Met Office still sticking to another cold event, mid Feb, snow and ice, winds easterly and northerly.

Seems very much a rerun of what we have just had, hopefully we get a north easterly.

Just popped to my mams at Whitburn and some canny strong gusts coming through now.

Worst of the winds not expected for a few hours in these parts yet.

Had a few gusts earlier but now it's nothing more than a windy night.

Not sure if it'll reach any noticeable wind speed on south tyneside. I love a decent wind storm as well.

Certainly sounds rather noisy out there now.

I might have spoken too soon.  Becoming very lively out there now!

Not a breath of wind now after last night. Quite strange actually,

I thought the storm was going to last well into Monday morning? It’s like we’re in the eye of it or something, flat calm.

Still fairly blustery here. Worst winds were between 12 and 3 this morning before slowly calming down slightly. Didn't get much sleep with the noise

Definitely not as bad as Isha. Isha was very noisy here. Sounded like the roof was lifting off and almost a constant roar.

Was wild here about 3am. Wind screeching over the house and torrential rain. I swear I heard thunder somewhere but could have been half asleep.

Think it was associated with the squall line.

Scared residents took to social media after waking to rain, hail and high winds at around 3am on Friday

So maybe it was a mini tornado then. To be fair it was wild out there the rain was pounding down.

Had an hour earlier when the roof sounded like it was lifting off. Winds starting to ease off now but looks like rain is coming

Well well well, starting to look like winter's coming back, maybe with a vengeance! Could be snowy for our region, and much of the country next weekend onwards. Fingers crossed 🤞

There seems to be a pretty standard run through whenever the word snow is mentioned in the forecast. For my area, (NE23), yesterday was showing full on snow from Wed onwards. As of this morning, that's now shifted back to 'a bit of a wintry mix maybes on Friday'. It happens every time without fail, I have given up getting excited about snow predictions 🙃
