awful day tomorrow, heavy rain all day, not much mention of it anywhere

Yeah I think you might be on the wet side of things tomorrow unfortunately. I might still somehow get away with staying dry, very fine margins. Still time for slight trends north-westwards though.

Weird setup though I have to admit, I'd have thought with a robust Euro high we could get away with being dry for longer...

Met office haven't ignore it but maybe warning needs to be expanded.

Weird feeling here today, almost like a Spanish Plume. Warm and very humid, if it wasn't January I'd be expecting thunderstorms later.

Dull (very dull) day here today...not much by way of actual rain, but damp...mild. Feel as though we've needed the lights on indoors all day today. Not a nice weather day at all...! Tomorrow's forecast appears to be a bit brighter, a bit cooler...both of which will be welcomed, if it comes off.

It's also getting noticeably lighter now of an evening. I quite like the dark actually, but equally I do like the fact that we get a decent amount of change and variety (as opposed to seasonal weather!) with the light. It might be arbitrary, but once it starts staying light beyond 1700hrs I really start to notice it...! Rather enjoying it.

Not much sunshine today and the clouds only cleared after sunset. Did give a touch of colour to the afterglow this evening though. Sunrise tomorrow could be quite nice ahead of the weak cold front tomorrow night, we'll see.

I think today had the coldest max since 19th January yet still above 7°C, shows how mild it's been recently.

Yep, looking at the latest GEFS ensembles and we're trending back to average maybe even on the cold side of it from next weekend, while precipitation signal increases, so a southerly tracking jetstream. If we don't get any snow next month, it's going to be very miserable but we'll have to push through it regardless. The last thing anyone living near floodplains needs is another washout at the moment.

Might get down to close to freezing tonight, if we're lucky...yes, it's got to the stage where I'm even celebrating the chance of frost!...before a bonkers warm start to Feb...

Yep - dropped down to -2.1C just after midnight in my sheltered back yard.

Frost still on roofs.. but clearing now on the grass as clouds moving in quickly.

Managed an air frost as well this morning close to -1°C. A lot of roofs and grass white!

Superb sunrise as I expected ahead of the cold front coming down tonight.

chilliest wait ever for the 12 bus today, the 9.25, so unexpected as well, what happened with that frost, hate it in a setup like this with no snow on ground, or due, may as well be 12 degrees, least then I can feel my feet

The wind was really a factor at times today, especially in late afternoon. Not a perishingly cold day for January, but quite a shock to the system! Shame there was so little sunshine. The coming days look supremely dull, in every respect.
