A lot calmer now. Occasional gust's but not as bad as before. Hope this stay's the same.

It's starting to get noisier outside after a 2hr lull, Buxton reported 55mph at around 17:45 but the expected squall-line has yet to form and it'll be ahead of this where i'm expecting to see the stronger +70mph gusts as it moves through at around 11pm.

Our fence has just blown down…. Pretty wild outside.

Just had a quick wander outside and our neighbourhood is pretty noisy at the moment with clattering and banging going on! Safe to say the storm has hit!

I'm not sure about anyone else but I'll never get tired of seeing any type of low pressure system rapidly deepen on satellite👌

Yes I wasn’t expecting it to be quite so squally, as we’re just inside the yellow warning area.

Well it’s pretty gusty out but don’t think we’ve had over 60mph, I’m guessing strongest winds will be about 10/11pm here?

Thinking about the poster who suffered anxiety around storms - Frank Sierra? maybe? - and hoping they're OK. They haven't been around on this thread lately and I know it helps my weather anxiety enormously to listen to knowledgeable people and occasionally chip in some randomness I found somewhere.

Whoops, there goes the contents of my neighbour's trailer....

Sustained wind gusts of 70mph reached in Mumbles not far from here, quite rare to see gales this widespread

I am about 10 miles from you on the Yorkshire Wolds and it is nasty out at the moment, sideways rain and tree bending gusts and its only early,

Pretty gusty here now.  My fence is swaying around and looking, as Bill Tilman’s boatyard manager in Lymington used to say of his topmast, “rather precarious, Sir, and not at all permanent”.
