Methuselah Me three. It depends if enough energy and forcing is available this far up. Seen it reach Colchester and fizzle too many times in recent years because of these factors. Time will tell.

This is what I mean by when I've told people that it was menacing. Just look at it off my camera.

Edited a few images to what they looked like looking at my camera rather than what came out.

Yeah, probably the best one I've captured because I've managed to find some new places in the village that I can quickly run to it and watch it envelop houses, may be better for lightning photography in the future. There was also thunder rumbling away inside the storm, not half bad for April.

Another nice little hail shower here around 30 minutes ago, was unexpected, but came down quite a bit for a minute or 2 .

Some nice skies tonight looking from the train station car park just as I arrived back home tonight. Couldn't spot any rainbows, but looks like the Coventry airport webcam saw one shortly after taking these:

I think tomorrow has the potential for some pretty beefy showers and maybe a few thunderstorms thrown in. Certainly a lively looking squall line pushing down through my location in the early hours. Still no thunder heard here this year but then again it is still early.

Wade mainly towards coast's I'd say early on and sporadic lightning elsewhere, but the risk during the afternoon seems to suggest Lincolnshire and East Anglia. They do tend to do well in NWerly airmass.

Sunshine and hail/rain showers for the majority though.

Convective Outlook ⚡

An active cold front is developing just of the coast of W Scot which will track SE across the country bringing the risk of the odd lightning strikes, 60mph gusts & a brief possible tornado. T-storms are also expected for W Scot where a SLGHT has been issued. Perhaps a re-strengthening towards the Lincolnshire corridor but not enough confidence in how it'll evolve for that.

TJS1998Tom I’m thinking I’ll set an alarm, check radar and decide if it’s worth going somewhere for
