Interesting cell maybe passing over Andover just now. Couldn’t make out too much structure as the sky is just varying shades of grey, but the wind changed direction rapidly as it went over suggesting some shear

Just got caught in some sort of little swirl or eddy type wind. Trees down and laying 90°s to the left of the prevailing wind direction. Pretty scary!

The storm risk may expand a bit further north tomorrow and so I'm contemplating getting out for my first chase of the year. If I see a storm it'll be the first time I've seen and chased a storm in March throughout my 20 years of storm chasing. Although the speed of them may suggest "chasing" would be impossible. It'll be a case of getting in the right place at the right time.

In the firing line for a change, coming right at me! Lovely surprise storm albeit fairly tame but some big flashes and booms in there, i'll take that! Please 2024 be decent for once, great start!

First thunderstorm of the year here! Plenty of CGs and loud thunder, with some hail thrown into the mix.

9 year olds Football training outside at Biddenham near Bedford. Id already warned the coach at 6pm and I was getting a bit jittery by 6.20 so I ran over and said it’s getting close you need to bring them off then first big flash.

He brought them off but other groups were still out then two close CGs but still plenty of people in the open.

scary start to the season for us lightning had a violet tinge too.

Stuart Norman yeah I came in from the greenhouse when I heard the first rumble... I don't fancy being in melting aluminium and glass box if it got struck.

Although saying that it could have fused the broken panels together 😂
