Rain isn't far away, but it's been making slow progress towards us.

Managed a bonus couple of hours in the garden, that I didn't think I'd get today.

Morning All, a frosty night with the overnight low of -0.1°C at: 00:38, with the frost lifting around 6am as the temperatures began to rise to the current 7.9°C , RH92% and an increasing windspeed of a light breeze in from the SE - E. Some patchy light rain around.

From Above, with the semi-circular shape of the low clearly visible.

Meanwhile on Golden sands, a solitary swimmer is being swallowed by a wave..

After a protest rally by the garden birds about empty feeders they were duly filled.Just masses of Tits with a Robin and occasional Woodpecker.Previous house Finches and Wagtails and no Tits only a mile apart...any clues?

If my water company decides to place water rationing in place in the summer, I plan to send screenshots of reminds of just how wet this winter has been to them.

Rainfall totals from this look much less than the 40mm forecast so reduced risk of flooding thank goodness.
This was Frome recently during one bout of flooding.

We were very pleased that the rain held off until midday so our boy’s football was played in decent conditions.

Last night got down to -1.2c and it was very frosty this morning.

Just joined the forum and this group. Total novice, I 'use' Netweather for information but know next to nothing...

I've been watching the radar most of the day since 10am, mainly because we had bad flooding last Sunday and from Wednesday this week. Water sitting just below the floor in my workshop downstairs and puddles all over... same level as the river outside which flows past the property.

Just been waiting for it to move on and wondering when we might be able to bring the car back from where we've parked it up the lane, but the rain seems to be stuck with us, not moving east as forecast. Not yet anyway. Why is that?

I'm between Shepton Mallet, Wells and Radstock btw.

IanCD Welcome to the friendly SW group, don't be afraid to ask if you don't know, as I am sure somebody will help you out, whether it's fishing gardening, oh and of course weather questions.

There is a slight pressure gradient on the back off the low that's moving out over France, but not seen much untoward here in gusts.

An overcast start as the low continues to pull away after a disgraceful day yesterday. The overnight low of 4.6°C at: 07:00 has just managed to reach 5.9°C , RH80% with a fresh breeze from the N.

Cycling across the old Severn Bridge (on the cycle path not the M48) was interesting last night, they closed it 90 minutes later.

Did you break it then?

As Beka mentions the wind is pretty unexpected. Extremely gusty from the NE.

However on the positive side it has cleared the air and we have increasing amounts of sunshine.

Not very pleasant out there.

Just been out chatting to the landscapers that next door have got in for their new patio. He's complaining about the cold wind.

Very jealous of his digger though. He's shifted more earth in two hours than me and my shovel can do in a weekend.
