Why do I believe the weather forecast.Laid wild flower seed,PROMISED rain to water them in.....total shambles

@Mapantz like you I'm struggling to see how the forecast from the Met Office earlier today really reflects what is happening out there. The inbound low they suggest will move across southern Uk. Right now it's way off their 16:00 forecast for the area.

Met Office showed rain at 10am this morning. Almost 13 hours later and it's nearly here.

Felt more like February than late April here today with it being dull all day with a cool breeze. Looking forward to the higher temperatures next week even if the actual weather might not be great still.

A spell of very heavy rain from about 05.00 for a few hours but it’s stopped now.

I wonder if it will stay gloomy or brighten up!?

There's a gap in the channel, before the next load of gloom heads in, but not hopeful.

Only job today in salisbury, not hopeful of staying dry,still we can do with the rain,drying out so quickly.

 ANYWEATHER I honestly didn't think anyone would bite,so thank you lol...its chalk ground here so does drain a bit quicker,I'm a gardener by trade and trust me,looking at what's on the way,the language here is not good lol

 Dorsetbred Yeah, just spoke to Mum down Fawley way. She says it's been Sunny all day. 

Not bad here. Bright with Sunny spells.

Aligns more to the initial MetO forecast, I didn't really expect to see anything for this (the supposed feisty part) of the southerly surge, heading more to the eastern side of the UK.

 Dorsetbred Just started now, but got a full day in, outside.

Interesting little bit of convergence just inland, producing a few showers.

Think if the Strictly Dance Panel were to mark the recent Met Office quality of forecast,would be lucky to get a 1 or 2 out of 10,getting close to not fit for purpose.
