MattStoke True. I think one thing is for sure though, it will be rain for all of us, bar the far North of the Midlands by 8pm. That mild air is just too far North 😠

andy_leics22 Some models have the precipitation clearing by then, ahead of the next band later in the night or during Friday. That's the best we can hope for. Don't want it to turn to rain before it's had a chance to lay for a few hours.

Think I may get a bit of sleet crap and then a nice cold wet day ahead. Can’t wait

Not sure how much of that would settle, especially if below 150m, higher areas east of Stoke could get quite a few cm though if you're closer to there.

Here it's safe to say nothing will stick but should get a few hours of wet snow / sleet if the warm sector doesn't head north of here.

Metwatch shame really. Considering what they were showing a few days back.

Looks like the MO have downgraded the longer-range forecasts  😢

A winter with many expectations and high hopes but very little to show for it...

Latest Arome 12z is also a little further north than 09z. The most south any snow accumulates with this run is the Cannock chase area / east of Stoke.

Annoyingly, the models have trended a bit further north at the last minute which reduces the chances away from the north of the region.

Tomorrow looks a non event tomorrow for us in Hinckely. Good luck to those north of us, I say through gritted teeth. Who knows what the rest of the season brings up. But to be honest it's all a bit mehh now. Hopefully now we have lighter nights spring is on the way and we can think more of BBQS than sleet and dank days

Sleet and rain is back on the Met Office app...It's the hope that kills you.

 Metwatch

Looks about right based on what's being modelled across the board. Obviously a chance there will be temporary 1-3cm accumulations across lower areas but realistically most areas away from 200m+ will just see transient snowfall and slushy deposits. I'd be happy to see snow fall, just not looking forward to seeing it turn back to rain.

Looks absolutely non event here as expected, genuinely the worst winter I can remember for a long time and that’s saying something. Saw 1 day of a cm or 2 of snow right at the start of December and that’s been it. Atrocious

The best metoffice app update all day. Kicks off with snow early doors now, then solid heavy snow all day. Boom!

chris pawsey Sorry to say this, but it's cold rain for you, maybe sleet in the early hours of the morning.

Metwatch Shows a few cm of snow over my home but nothing at my work. Annoying if that happens.

2019-20 was worse, barely saw a flake the whole winter. If I ignore the few cm late November 2021, then 2021-22 winter was virtually snowless as well.

Not to worry SSW just in time to ruin Spring as well, so that's a 9 month Autumn baked in.
