Update 2024 ….regarding warmth in that sunshine was just stunning today

Yep it was a lovely day. The max I recorded was 19.6 C.

 

Rainfall for April was 95.4mms.

Absolutely stunning day here, warm sunshine, very light to no breeze and not a cloud in the sky and even the possibility of a few storms in the next few days. Good stuff.

Not a bad day today. Managed to sit outside with a drink (coffee!) at lunchtime, which hasn't happened often this year. Shame the forecast from tomorrow on has been downgraded (surprise, surprise...) from the largely dry and bright weather we were originally predicted to get. Not *awful* I guess, but hardly inspiring for May.

 I remember Atlantic 252 a weather warning was issued earlier for rain coming late afternoon.

 

None has materialised

I would avoid the moans thread if I were you fellow midlanders, I get it's the place to moan but people are taking the mick in that thread, constantly doom and gloom, it does me head in. Weather is a hobby, enjoy it for what it is. Anyway 2nd lovely day on the trot here.

N Midlands has had best of weather today, very rare event indeed, south has been cold and dull/windy

No rain over here either, let alone thunderstorms. In fact, there hasn't been any measurable rainfall in this neck of the woods for a few days now and I hope it continues for a while. Just need some more sun.

Useless weather today, just drab, dreary and cold. Thankfully next week is looking nice with a thunderstorm mixed in hopefully but I'm not holding me breath

Hi all, I've been away for a while (working in Europe), hope to post some pics and a weather update of what I experienced soon (it includes hail, sleet and a good storm!). Back to the here and now...wow, today could have passed for an October (or even November) day...very cool. I'm no fan of excessive heat, but in early May I don't expect to be wearing my winter coat and having the family ask whether we can have the heating on...!

 Dancerwithwings Hmm, not quite...! First Brussels, then Utrecht, then Den Haag...cool, cold, mixed! I'll try to post some pics at some point. Utrecht was particularly chilly, really cold wind and sleet on the first day, hail on the second! Den Haag was interesting, all four seasons in a day. Too hot for a coat and jumper, then 90mins later, cold rain verging on sleet...then overnight, the best storm (if you like that sort of thing, which I do) since what we had in Solihull last June!

 SollyOlly It's frustrating that we have been having those kind of setups during the spring. Why can't it happen during the winter which is almost always milder than average? Grrr.

Dreading winter so much

Perhaps if a La Nina develops, December into early Jan could be wintry but mostly guesswork of course. Enjoy the here and now, next week looking decent at last!

Been another glorious day here with long warm sunny spells, dried 2 loads of washing and been pottering in the garden most of the day..

Tomorrow looks interesting,  local storms may well devlop dependant on cloudbreaks, weak cap and sunshine.

That said some trundles of ppn are heading north into some weak shear and convervgeance zone.
