Very heavy shower rapidly developed ahead of today's rain band. Absolutely torrential here.

Sunday is forecast to be a nice day here. If the day in question does indeed end up being what is forecast then it will be the fourth consecutive nice Sunday for this neck of the woods.

A fair amount of fog / mist yesterday and this morning. Light winds, damp ground following rain and warm air aloft, the recipe for it.

[Midlands Ice Age]

A sudden unexpected downpour here last night at 23:30 just as I was going to bed.

Flooded the road and I recorded 6.7mms in about 4 mins. Some hail in the mix as well, but no thunder. 

Anyone else hit by this what appears to be an isolated, but very heavy cell?

I had noticed a few cumulo's about just before dark, but it was unexpected.

Thundery showers again 4.30 to 6pm this time on the SE side of us coming in from the NE unusual..

A couple of rumbles around 4 to the south could see that to the east earlier too..

The SE developing Calvus was gorgeous and a very lively thundery activity frequent thunder..

What a grey and cool day! After what was almost a perfect Sunday weather-wise, I had thought that the brightness would hang on a little bit today, at least. Nothing doing so far!

 SollyOlly Just thinking the same! I'm in Wythall and it's cool and uninspiring. Man by me on the station platform in short sleeves complaining to someone on the phone that the TV weather said the sun would quickly break through. It certainly hasn't yet! Hopefully it will eventually.
