Potentially ruined and cold spring with the potential to be followed up by a cool and wet summer? That really would be a kick in the privates after the past several months we've had.

Rarely look at forecasts these days since they're not massively accurate but just had a glance at the Met Office weather map for England for the next 7 days. Apparently, a lovely countrywide overcast sheet of grey for all with no spec of sun to be seen. Lovely...🙄🤮

SunSean Yes, charts for the next 7 days or so look very dreary, unless you like grey skies and wind 🥱

 *Stormforce~beka*  F that! Not again 🫣

I’m hoping for a stunning spring and summer, changed my job last year and only do 3x12 hour shifts a week rather than working 2 jobs at 50 hours a week so at least have more free time to enjoy the weather 🥰 come on warmth and sun, give it to us, you owe us  🌞 🤞

SunnyG Hi there!  Glad you had a nice day!

Just checked the Jetstream forecast again, the incoming sweep  (from the Hudson Bay if not Baffin Island!) has come forward to the 9th, i.e. a week’s time, lasting through to the Tuesday.

Might-be a thermals and wellies time!

Would be just my luck if it was really snowy on 9th/10th... the 10th is the one day this month I really need to travel, to see friends I haven't seen for ages and won't have another chance for ages! So sorry folks, nope, not joining the "please let it happen" group for this one. Though the 11th would be OK... 😉

Just a pre-emptive whinge that may turn out irrelevant anyway, so clearly one for this moans thread!

Arctic Hare They can't possibly know now. Considering today they had forecast thick cloud all through the day and it's now sunny and has been for an hour at least, I doubt they can tell tomorrow's weather let alone a week's time's 😉

PS It's still overcast according to the Meto website 🙂 🙂

SunSean the Met Office were forecasting cloud all day here but we've had some sunshine.

I'll take today's weather for the rest of winter quite happily tbh

It feels oddly mild today, even compared to the last few weeks. It's the first time it's felt more like actual spring than a warm winter day here.

Unfortunately the forecast for rain was bang on here. Overcast and breezy with that nasty fine rain/heavy drizzle here in East Lancs. Doesn’t look that bad but could probably get you very wet if you are out for too long in it. Temp 9.8°C with 90% humidity. Damp is the word. I think I’ll have to wait until March to get some dry, sunny weather with temps in double digits.

Haven't posted much here lately but I just wanted to say how the past ~10 days of winter weather has been absolutely perfect. 10c+ maxima and bone dry with plenty of sunshine and light winds. That's as good as it gets this time of year!!

Particularly today which has been 14c and sunny - that's incredible for early Feb. Today it genuinely could've been April it's just been insanely springlike! How could anyone want this to end for cold and rain??

Here's some pictures of the weather since Jan 24th each taken on separate days. What a spell it's been in the south.
