in a few years time, the Earth will appear from space as a grey planet! 😬

Well given the increase for CO2 , plants, floura and fauna will grow more  readily and rapidly so in actual fact some parts of the Planet will become greener…..😊😎

ANYWEATHER And, pound for pound, become less useful as a source of nutrients. . . Just like when warm, wet springs make for faster growing but weedier grass. 🤔

cheeky_monkey At least you actually see the sky lol. It's a near impossibility for us here. It's just a tupperware box every day.

Yeah, but you won't be able to see it from space due to cloud cover!

johncam be grateful that it's out today. It's grey as a pigeons bum in East England today. At least it's dry eh! It'll be back to grey AND wet tomorrow 😁

In Absence of True Seasons It managed to appear while I was on my walk earlier this afternoon after heavy rain and felt rather warm.  However, it soon vanished behind the clouds again, but at least it's not raining now!

Only 28 hours of sunshine recorded so far this month here. None today. Truly abysmal.

Don rather ironically enough, if the earth did end up in a situation where the whole surface is beneath cloud cover, it could be significantly hotter due to the heat trapping capacity of excess water vapours in the atmosphere!

The weather truly has been abysmally dull at least IMBY.. such low light levels 3 days in a row!

I wonder if UK economic output would improve if we manipulated the weather - the opposite of cloud seeding. ☁️ ☁️ 🙄

Stabilo19 Undoubtedly. There's a demonstrable link between sunshine / light levels and wellbeing, which in turn impacts productivity and energy levels.

It doesn't even necessarily have to be something that you'd "notice" per se. More sunshine and light simply equals more people going outside, doing things, socialising, wanting to leave the house, which altogether facilitates creativity and fosters new ideas, more effort put into jobs etc. My best ideas, clearest mind, and best successes in my job have been during brighter, warmer months.

When our climate is like this, most people just want to do whatever they need to do ASAP and then return home to hunker down in front of the TV or with a book etc. Much less desire to "go above and beyond" in terms of productivity.

Had enough now of nearly 4 and half months of little sun, lots of low cloud and rain. Sunshine and warmth can't come soon enough. This week is reaching a new low in this respect, but as the saying goes 'the darkest hour is just before dawn', 'dawn' being when the clocks go forward.

damianslaw the clocks going forward will give us that critical, much needed extra hour of grey 😁😫

SunSean I wouldnt go as far as to say this March is as bad as 2023 so far. I would put it with March 2021 (A dry week at the start, but very dull). Maybe a 2021-style warm spell at the end would do???

johncam Hopefully not for a few years and as the Earth is further from the sun, we may get away with only 250-300C!? 🤫
