  1. this winter has been total 'pants' and must be one of the worst monotonously boring winters since (or even surpassing) 2013 and thats saying something. i can't even bring myself to look forward to next winter now if this is the way our winters are going. utter dross.

  3. yep its such a pity the UK hasn't got any really high mountains, say around 6000ft +. that would solve all our awful winter dilemmas.
  4. not sure even easterlies would be much good at the moment. Even Russia is currently in fairly mild air so there is no huge cold pool over Europe for us to tap into even if we get an Easterly.
  5. looking back at my diary, January and February 2010 and then December 2010 were by far the best year for snowfall. Even 2009 was a good one in February although not as many frequent snow events as in the winter of 2010.
  6. so where is this 'cold and snowy' second half to winter the forecasters stated when they did their winter 2015/16 forecast? seems they had about as much knowledge about what this winter would bring as the rest of us (ie. no idea whatsoever just clutching at straws).
  7. this lousy winter is dead in the water....thank god. cant wait for it to be over now.
  8. whoever says the UK weather is unpredictable needs to think again. I think they are fairly 'predictable'. I can reliably predict that in the next 12 months the UK will experience a lot of wind, rain and mild temperatures....guaranteed. If that's not predictable then I don't know what is.
  9. i think we can accept the negativity as this winter there has not been much to be positive about.
  10. not so easy to move when you don't have much money.lol. Also Vancouver would be ideal as although Vancouver city tends to not get much snow at least you know within an hour or so drive you can up in the mountains with more or less guaranteed snow, so that would do me nicely.
  11. yes I am sure that knowing the way the UK weather patterns go we will start getting the right 'cold' patterns appearing in April/May, when they are no use to anyone and we will have a cold spring which will just be an extension of what we are experiencing now. Why the UK always produces what we want, but at the wrong times of the year is just so annoying. I give up with this countries weather now.
  12. this winter is rapidly turning into yet another abysmal period which I would rather forget. After all the forecast predicting a winter of two halves with the second being much colder and snowier now not coming to fruition it seems I for one will be glad to see the back of this depressingly mild and wet Autumn....I mean winter. The UK weather patterns need to buck their ideas up and banish the jet stream once and for all. Fed up to say the least.
  13. I can guarantee that all the elements required for a cold and snowy scenario will all come together.......in July.
  14. thoroughly depressed now to hear the eastern US is about to get yet another huge snowstorm which could even break the record. They seem to have these huge storms every few years and even in between manage to get decent snowfall each year. Meanwhile back in the dampfest that is the UK we have to be grateful for even a cm of snow if we're lucky and that is for the entire winter season. What a joke this countries weather is.
  15. omg 5 frosty mornings... and in the northern hemisphere too....who would have thought such things were possible.lol
  16. what another dismal and disappointing winter. I really thought this winter might be different but it has been even worse than I could have imagined. Can't wait to get rid of it now.
  17. well my moaning to the snow gods must have finally paid off as we had a decent snowfall last night and around an inch of lying snow today. looks very pretty and a nice change after the past few fairly snowless winters. around freezing still right now.
  18. come on northampton...prove me wrong. i dare you
  19. poxy little drizzly sleet here. just typical. where has the snow gone these past few years? its ridiculous
