  1. The rear of this storm is producing CG's, stay safe everyone to the East!!
  2. Thunderstorm over Basildon, very slow moving. Little wind, vertical rain and IC lightning!!!
  3. Seeing some very impressive IC lightning here, no wind to speak of, vertical rain and very loud thunder!
  4. 2 more rumbles, and it's raining now. No lightning seen after it arrived! Edit to add, a massive thunder clap just heard but I never saw the flash, it's a bit bonkers!!!!
  5. Storm in Basildon now, mostly electrical and convective rainfall but light to moderate. I might have expected a little more but beggars can't be choosers!
  6. Just took a look outside and saw a massive CG, still a few miles away and not a drop of rain? And as I type another rumble!!
  7. Storm now approaching from the West, 5 miles away, I can hear the thunder but still no rain, very strange!
  8. Almost constant thunder from the West, still no rain nor lightning seen and radar doesn't suggest any rainfall. I haven't seen an electrical storm such as this since the 1990's
  9. The Kent thunder heard here is something special. Got my own local storm tracking in, no rain yet, it seems to be purely electrical!!!
  10. It's heading my way, loud and proud!! Edit to add:, sorry to your north but it's a noisy beast!
  11. Storm heading my way from the West, not expecting anything too dramatic but I can already hear thunder from it!
  12. Where are the Kent members? I'm hearing almost constant thunder from over there but no reports?
  13. Kent storm 7 miles South of Basildon tracking East, hearing some lovely thunder here!
  14. It's great to hear the thunder in the distance without getting soaked!
  15. A quick update, Plenty of thunder heard to my South, but only Cirrus above Basildon, however a large black mass is approaching from the West. Might be a good show albeit possibly a bit short!!!
  16. I can see the Kent storm from here, It's not going to get anywhere near me, I'm hedging my bets on the one developing over Croydon.
  17. Going to sit on my garden swing with a beer, Wife thinks I'm mad but it does seem to encourage T-storms
  18. Distant thunder to my West and CB's to my South, not much to shout about here though!!
  19. 25 minutes late but my estimate is a fail!!! Sferics approaching from north Kent
  20. Don't keep your hopes up. The rain is drizzly in nature and nothing convective about it. Just one flash and a rumble here, currently still drizzling, wind non-existent. I'm hoping it's going to 'back-build' and produce something a little better but without any solar heating I can't see anything coming tonight!!
  21. I was watching Flightradar, it was a BA 777 and it landed safely at Heathrow!
  22. Morning all, very heavy convective style raindrops falling at Dawlish http://www.dawlishbeach.com/live/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=18 the webcam is picking them up nicely. Meantime in Essex, things seem to be developing rapidly, good luck to those anticipating a hefty storm or two
