  1. Heavy snow shower, starting to settle on the clear bits of road and pavement.
  2. Temp here crept about freezing here for 4hrs maxed at 0.4. Strangely enough it was right after the heaviest shower of the day when the snow was just starting to fill in the gaps. Quite a lot melted from the pavements and roads but nowhere else really. The sun came out briefly as well. Back down below freezing now.
  3. Slight thaw today with temps just above freezing now at 0.4. A few flurries blowing in the wind again.
  4. Really odd. The big heavy flakes have been replaced by fine flakes and now it's started to accumulate on parrts of the paths and roads that have cleared. And now the sun has come out and the snow has eased off...
  5. Heaviest snow so far today, really coming down now. Temp -0.2c. Not sure it's adding much to the accummulation though.
  6. Snowing quite heavily now. Thought it was all going to my south east so a bit of a bonus.
  7. A few pics from my walk earlier and a 2ft high snowman myself and my daughter managed to construct, not easy with the dry powdery snow.
  8. I can see the band to my south east and showers passing to my north west, a few flakes fluttering down ATM. Doesn't look there was any more snow overnight. Everything frozen solid temp now -2.8.
  9. Been snowing since about 530 this afternoon and still going. Sometimes fairly heavily. Pretty much covered the foot prints and areas I cleared this morning. I estimate a further 4cms has fallen in that time so got about 11cms now. Temp got to -1.4 earlier, now -1.6.
  10. Alternating between moderate and heavy. Filling in the gaps on the pavements and roads. been going for about 30 mins.
  11. Slate grey skies and continuous light snow. Temp -2.5. Some nice little drifts building up even in my tiny garden.
  12. Looks like a few more cms has fallen overnight, the road and pavement now filled in. Snowing lightly now and the wind still blowing it around. Another good update from the met office with chances of snow today, tomorrow and Friday. Drier Wednesday and Thursday.
  13. Just done a measurement. 8cms on the grass, I suspect some of that is grass. 5cms on the wheelie bin. Still patchy on the pavement and roads. Temp below freezing now at -0.3. Plenty of icicles forming when I went out earlier.
  14. Wow! That's really bad. I value your input and always interested in what you say but I in know way consider it a guarantee of anything. I just don't understand some people.
  15. Slight increase in intensity has been enough for it to start to settle on the concrete surfaces now.
  16. Same here. Maybe it's a bit of residual warmth left in the concrete surfaces as it has been fairly mild with little frost over the last week. If the temp drops a little bit more and or the intensity picks up a bit it should start to settle.
  17. Snow getting a bit heavier now. A nice covering on the grass but the snow is allergic to the concrete. Temperatures stubbornly refusing to drop to 0. Stuck at 0.1.
  18. This is reminding me a lot of March 2013. Some areas did really well, but here the snow refused to settle on pavements and roads. Ended up with 5cms on other surfaces.
  19. Very fine flakes being driven by the strong wind. Slowly building up on grass and plastering surfaces exposed to the wind. Not settling on roads or pavements. Temp just above freezing at 0.3.
  20. Light snow just started. Settling on the cars. Met office automated forecast has me down for heavy snow from 9 till 1 and light snow thereafter. The text forecast update is also good so will see what happens.
  21. Sorry about the quote can't get rid of it. Now absolutely peeing down. Temp slowly falling. Now 5.8.
  22. That slight shift west has taken it within 500 yards my front door! Sounds like it could get serious, 1 square away from a red warning on the matrix.
  23. It's so difficult to tell though. All the models have slightly different ideas. I think it will be a nowcast job. Fingers crossed everyone in the region can get a decent amount of snow over the next 4 days.
