  1. yep see that on the radar even though it doesn't appear to be in any great hurry a blessing for those who avoid the showers forecast at convectiveweather.co.uk did put a focus on the SW and indicated some other areas may stay dry pot luck today I think
  2. yep at the moment there is for me as well at the moment , going out in a minute so hoping for a dry morning
  3. I'm surprised this thread is quiet this morning as expecting more activitiy , I assume most are now at work or has the risk changed I see the NW main page seems less encouraging showers turning locally heavy with a risk of hail and thunder or am I just up early and reading too much into it (probably)
  4. thought they were doing well to be getting that in Wales then remembered that was Newport , of course through the channcel should have gave me a clue
  5. getting cloudier here and NO i don't lknow which type so I'll stick to cloudy as it covers a multitutde of clouds which is the limit of my ability
  6. it does seem to tie in with the forecast here http://www.convectiveweather.co.uk/ I think for most tomorrow will be a better bet
  7. spoke to a friend of mine recently who has an interest in the spiritualist / mediumship type of thing and he said they he thinks the summer this year will be very dull and cloudy which may ort may not put and dampner on things for you plume watchers , I'm pretty certain you'll all dismiss this out of hand and to be honest I don't think it'll pan out this way but I'll keep an eye out just in case
  8. saw that too thought it was lightning
  9. even the rain over the london and SE areas has lost a lot of it's intesity
  10. not sure about stalling but it's not going very far very fast that's for sure
  11. met office site has heavy rain or showers through the evening and overnight and also a risk of thunder during the evening but if we didn't get any thunder during the day when the instability was higher more higher temperatures higher cape and so forth and so on which the GFS preditcts to be all but gone by 6pm cape and LI that is rain probably thunder very doubtful in my opinion
  12. yep very little thunder at all around today and the band of most heavy showers has now cleared to the north with the ones further south not in any particular hurry to follow and also with shortening days the process of sunset will be beginning relatively soon which should knock what little thunder activity there is on the head , I know I shouldn't be mentioning sunset at 15:15 but I do like these shortenng days not the long ones of summer but I'm drifting off topic could I have a translation please
  13. plenty of rain but no rumbles of thunder very surprised seeing the radar
  14. seems to be very little in the way of thunder but the amount of rain some are seeing looks heavy in places , as I said earleir if we had this is the summer time with the length of daylight hours and the strength of the sun we would be getting a pasting from electrical activity as it is thank god it's october
  15. no there isn't much in the way of thunder at all but there is plenty in the way of rain , I have avoided the worst so far but not sure how long that'll continue for
  16. if you take the met office warning at face value then you won't see much but you never know
  17. i see poeple saying how warm and muggy it is I am feeling cold just had to go get shirt and jumper on don't know what i'll be wearing from tomorrow onwards
  18. so where's this from don't think we'll see that today thankfully
  19. this is from the met office Issued at: 1020 on Tue 6 Oct 2015 Valid from: 1230 on Tue 6 Oct 2015 Valid to: 2359 on Tue 6 Oct 2015 Although many areas will miss the heaviest rainfall today, some parts of the warning area are likely to see heavy, sometimes thundery and slow-moving showers, these leading to temporary surface water flooding in a few areas, together with minor disruption to travel. A slack area of low pressure will move slowly across southern Britain today, bringing unstable air and the potential for thundery showers. The light winds mean that the downpours will be slow-moving as well as intense in some regions, with the possibility of 15 mm or more falling in less than an hour. sorry William you don't appear to be included think the met office is taking a precautionary measure so people don't get caught out and as for thunder that's in very short supply at the moment not that I have a complaint about that
