  1. Well Met office show heavy showers for my area later this afternoon...but I think we will likely be the breeding ground to make storm babies head NE into the area marked level 1 by Estofex. Who knows..I might be lucky if any develop to my SW!
  2. Wow...just wow...I cannot watch any more...I just want to jump in the screen to be there and witness it first hand.
  3. http://www.dortmund-airport.de/index.php?id=1170&cam=2&L=0 Spider gets ready to cling on for dear life during storm on camera....LIVE - Netweather exclusive.
  4. This looks like a good cam to watch - get ready!
  5. Some good strikes appearing on this cam now
  6. Nice to read something a bit more positive for the near term rather than just focusing on the cool pattern showing for a week ahead onwards. However, unfortunately for some, the GFS 18z does continue a trend for heights to gradually move West into the Atlantic working their way up towards Greenland. This just doesn't do us any favours if it is hot weather you are after...and I can understand the despondency from those that may suffer from potential cool cloudy weather along some coastlines. (If it verifies this way) If the sun comes out, it would at least be pleasant enough getting into the high teens and around 20 degrees in the South. Nights would be cool/chilly though with single figures in some areas. Eastern areas may also see showers, being furthest from the High pressure and with the Low pressure to the NE in Scandi. Not the worst weather outlook compared to other recent Summers and their trains of Lows, but personally I see this as something more akin to mid-Spring rather than Summer. Still...we got this week to get through - let's see what the models look like towards the end of it...
  7. Moderate heavy rain coming from the stuff that just went through Bristol. No T&L tho - looks like it has weakened as it came my way.
  8. Its here...rain started but skies are flat grey and not 'stormy looking'. Definitely a couple of rumbles from it but it sounds elevated?
  9. I think I heard a faint rumble in the distance from my S/SW...perhaps the same one you heard Karl! Dark skies coming in from my SW.....could get lucky..
  10. That rain almost here and sky looks threatening, however I do not think the energy is there to see anything more than the odd rumble of thunder, if even that.
  11. The possibility of some overnight sharp showers is certainly there, but I think thundery activity will be minimal. We had high values of MLCAPE to sustain the storms last night...tonight both SB and ML CAPE is low to non-existent. Saying that though, the Met Office rainfall forecast has updated to show more extensive showers pushing in... Don't think I will be up that late again though These features will likely be the focus of thundery showers during Sunday across Ireland, Wales C/N England and Scotland as the day wears on.
  12. I think only chance is perhaps the odd isolated heavy shower - depends if they develop later when it starts to reach peak warmth. Other than that, perhaps something Monday? But precip charts don't really show much for us at this time.
  13. I've noticed that unfortunately in recent years any plumes we do get have been the result of a rather deep Low pressure system to our W/SW, rather than a slack Low which would be more ideal.I think one factor may be the fact with the Jet tending to be more South in recent Summers, this allows any systems to push in more quickly, not allowing the proper heat and unstable air masses to stay for very long. For example, if the Jet was North of the UK and a thundery low developed in the Bay of Biscay heading North, it is more likely to provide those 'classic' Spanish plume storms.
  14. For some of us lucky gits who already got something in the West, clearance may allow some scattered thundery showers to develop across the SW, Wales, W country and C/S England. These will likely be few and far between though...so just a case of watching the radars.
  15. Likely because the more unstable air is getting pushed NE and E as front makes its way in.
  16. Had several flashes and rumbles with 2 cracking CG strikes nearby. Has moved off quickly now towards Gloucester.
  17. Oh my god...2 CG strikes really close my hairs are standing on end the explosion was massive and alarms going off everywhere.
  18. Yess's its coming towards me I'm going to go see if I can take any pics without my neighbours calling the police...
  19. Looks like its towards chipping sodbury...I'm surprised I can't hear or see anything!
  20. Gah its going too far to my West to see anything. Looking good for Cardiff!
  21. It does seem to be shrinking though so I may just be that little bit too NE of it. Difficult to tell.
  22. I am just starting to hear faint rumbles now Early morning breakfast watching lightning over the estuary perhaps?
  23. Not yet. We are sat in a bit of a "hollow" in the valley so the view towards Bristol is a bit obscured...my eyes are glued to the window though :PShould be more viewable when its to my West
  24. Indeed I look across at the Severn Bridges...should be interesting!
  25. Looks like its going to go past slightly to the W of Bristol. Could be some spectacular views for areas along the Severn Estuary
