  1. Lol, that Precipitation- Type radar is like Catnip to me! I won't leave it alone all night!
  2. Was just about to start making the Christmas cake.... Why... WHY did I casually peep at the Radar this evening..... !? I am WILLING some of those blobs to get organised and turn pink.
  3. I take comfort in the fact I woke up to an good Inch and a half covering the other morning, not expected, or forecasted.... Anything could happen Chins up folks, it's Friday too!!
  4. Hi Andrew, I think there are quite a few Reading natives that look on both - so whatever you feel comfy with!
  5. Just stopped raining here, still gusty, and keeping it bone chillingly cold! Really looking at the next 72 hours + to see how this cold potential will pan out. The patterns are good - and although the Model thread is a bit all over the place, I think the general feeling is that Next week's cold spell is game on although Snow-wise, I've just got all my cold fingers and cold toes crossed! Hope everyone is keeping warm!
  6. This rain has been parked over us here for a good few hours now.... Relentless!!
  7. No worries, sorry I wasn't clear- I'm not in the SW often enough to keep changing my profile location. I think the heaviest/gustiest part has passed Plymouth now, although it's still pouring outside and still blowy - the rain is blowing in sheets up the road, although we are in quite an exposed position. I have given up all hope of getting home tonight, and just keeping my fingers crossed that I can travel tomorrow, although based on the amount of rain we're currently experience, and the rails totally submerged in some areas, I am not optimistic. Oh well! Hope anyone driving is safe!
  8. I'm actually in Plymouth at the moment, working, as per my earlier posts.
  9. I'm in a hotel in Plymouth right on the sea interviewing...... Windy doesn't cover it!! - watching that squall line very closely. Just getting very dark here. - No trains back to London either. Stay safe folks!
  10. It's currently tipping down in Plymouth:) nice and windy too!
  11. First few drops of what I'm expecting to be a very wet night! The TV signal in my bedroom has all gone to pot, which is usually indicative of anything wet and windy incoming. Radar-wise looks (for now) that we'll get widespread persistent rain here, but the really heavy/Convective stuff looks like it's centred around the NW and Wales at the moment. Stay safe everyone!
  12. A friend of mine has just been given a bonsai tree - care instructions recommend rainwater as oppose to tap water... hmmm. Tonight could be surprising....
  13. Rain died off for about 30 minutes, and is back to pouring again. - Looking at the NW extra Radar, there's some pretty furious business coming in up the channel...... I could well be swimming to Plymouth tomorrow at this rate!
  14. Been raining heavily for about an hour now - the wind has noticeably picked up. Front Path has flooded a little bit.
  15. Hi Folks, I'm crossposting, but.. I recommend http://www.meteox.co...ontinent=europa along with http://www.xcweather.co.uk in Tandem with the NW extra Radar for following this bad boy. I mean Girl.
  16. Don't ofter throw my two penneth in over here, I've posted in the SE thread too, and I'm sorry if you look at it already - but I recommend http://www.meteox.co.uk/forecastloop.aspx?type=1&continent=europa along with http://www.xcweather.co.uk in Tandem with the NW extra Radar for following this bad boy. I mean Girl.
  17. It's the high impact I'm a bit worried about - the one week I'm not working from home & travelling to Plymouth to hold interviews and this minibeast pops up! - That and I won't have much time to radar watch - Nobody talking about it in the Atlantic Storm thread yet tho...
  18. It's looking like the cheeky zap zap has moved off and got itself organised into the north sea. Not seen or heard anything since - I didn't expect it either, thought it might've been fireworks, but the 'bang' was actually a rumble. If I'd of been indoors I probably would have missed it. Totally taken by surprise & I usually am all over any convective potential!! Needless to say I am now hanging out of the bedroom window, camera on, trying to stop the cats escaping just in case there's anymore. Don't think there will be, it's quite windy, so anything developing is getting its wriggle on off to sea I think. Well, that's what the Nwextra radar is showing...
  19. I don't know if anyone is up this late, but I was out in the garden indulging in a quick cigarette, and I saw a couple of flashes towards the river. Looking at the radar, it appears there's something that has popped up very quickly just outside the end of the Thames Estuary - Anyone in the Southend direction see it? I've heard distant rumbles since but no more flashes....
  20. Little spots of rain, clouded over here in Beckenham very quickly, first rumbles just started. Heading off to Crystal Palace with the Camera....
