  1. I'd say the rain was moderately exciting now. I'm getting Noah/Ark comments on my twitter feed.....
  2. Started to rain here about 10 minutes ago... I'd like to say it was special rain, but it isn't. not yet.....
  3. Pretty hefty downpours on the radar clipping SW coast at the moment.... should become interesting this side of the UK mid afternoon? - Keep us posted with activity in your area! I've got my torch ready... just in case... Stay safe everyone Jo x
  4. Might be a good idea to take the bunting down (if like me you haven't) and not park the car under that precariously looking tree..... Looking quite feisty on the extra radar already - will have this on my desktop running all day! This should be interesting tonight - I'm in the process of having building done on the house, and there are lots of bits of Tarpaulin etc covering stuff up. Flap flap!
  5. It's all a bit north for me I can see it from the garden, but unless there's going to be a freak u-turn, that lovely red and purple radar blob is drifting away
  6. I just took a picture of that very cloud and popped it on twitter - Prob different angle to you tho
  7. Dry in Upminster! According to twitter it's just started to rain the Basildon area - there are some seriously beefy looking towers out there! Will try and get some photos up when I'm off the train. Pleased that a few more guys have had a bit more action today after the localised stuff earlier this week
  8. Travelling from Brent Cross on the tube back to upminster, tiny bit of thunder; skies very threatening! Will be interesting to see what it's like at the other end; imagine it will be bucketing it down given my car at the other end of the station and ill informed summer shoes....
  9. All Blown Through here, think it's East Essex's turn now... Be nice if something did brew for a bit later - it's still humid and even more so with the Sun out now.
  10. Moore75 - Where in Corringham Are you? I am also there Just saw first flash of lightning.
  11. These showers are certainly slow moving - Thunder is getting louder though....
  12. Just heard that rumble too Stephen, I'm in Corringham, just up the Road SS17 Woot!
  13. The guy next door has just decided to mow the lawn, so any faint rumbling is being drowned out by grass getting murdered... I might go round there. WAIT! Just had a rumble
  14. My Rain alarm has just gone off on my phone. Looks very promising outside at the moment. Radar seems to be looking good too, hopefully it'll nudge along east a bit.....
  15. That would be what I can see outside, looking west towards London. Ooh!
  16. Very hazy now, clouds over to the West looking almost battleship grey..... So it begins!
  17. Little bit of tall cloud started to bubble up over the estuary - I am also radar watching while I work! On a deeply unscientific note, the Ants that live under my patio are swarming. - This tends to happen just before a Thundery breakdown, so I'm hoping that they know something I don't...
  18. C'mon folks, I know it's warm and uncomfortable, but let's not be snippy eh? - Especially with a bit of Rumble potential for later! Looking forward to hearing/seeing who gets what!
  19. We have Lightning on a bit of a low cloud bank to the west here, but no thunder. It's SO dark!
  20. This is making me think of little clouds on legs chasing round in circles.....
  21. Not much in the way of Thunder here, but the rain and wind has been pretty squally. The last band to pass through made the air oddly warm, Whereas this morning it was just cold winter rain! Looking at the radar, there seems to be another fairly decent blob coming up from the central south coast, so I am optimistic there will be a few more bubbling up soon....
  22. Had a good 4-5 inches here, it let go a little tiny bit this afternoon, but the bottom has fallen out of the temperature, so everything will be extra crisp and slippery in the morning. We had about 2 hours of tiny snizzle around lunchtime. Field behind me has been like a sledgers dream. More snow or not, it looks like the next few days are still going to keep cold, based on the weekly NW forecast for here, today and tomorrow look to have the highest temps before we flip back to NE'erly flow and into the freezer. Looks pretty dry tho
