Breaking news on the Beeb - Highways Agency has declared a Snow Emergency in Kent.
Wonder where BEEB has got that from? - HE not tweeted anything yet to that respect (they are Highways England now not the Highways Agency)..

Feeling the need to withdraw.. but just to say that (everyone else with radar will see) showers really are thickening up and drifting quite deeply into the South of our region. I still have no snow.
Am with you on that... am going to take a break and then hopefully get a surprise later. As an Adult don't get many good surprises anymore

we have more fluffies blowing in the breeze in Reading.. quite moderate but nothing to really get too excited about. Sun still out.
Edit as editing it has stopped... bit quick

Right you friendly bunch - wasn't there a netweather social hashtag or something where you can tweet when it is snowing in your area and it plants it on a map? I cant remember if I imagined this, or forgot it, or as I am so slow on social media it is now obsolete.. Can anyone help me please? If there was would love to see the region get peppered with locations with snow marks over next few days. Then at least, if I don't get any, at least I know someone nearby has.

Slight bits of snow drifting in the wind here this morning..... tried to do a radar watch and turn to weather type on, but the netweather radar isn't playing ball

It's been a clear night in Horndean so I expected to wake up to -5 temp and thick frost. However it's -1 and no frost. It has been a lot colder over recent nights which I assumed would get progressively colder. A little confused to say the least unless we are in a small pocket if relatively warmer air. Ideas anyone? ❄❄❄❄
Same here about 10pm it was -2 then thinking we would wake to heavy frost ... no none. Don’t get it .

I always find this when we have a keen easterly. The house is well protected from the usual W/SW draughts as found those years ago, but every time we have a spell like this I think I really must do something about my draughty east facing doors/windows
Good point both.. if there is a northerly every single pin hole of a gap seems to send a force 4 gale through my house. I've done everything I can do at cost without rebuilding. However with an easterly it's blocked by me being terraced to next door... yay... bring on the easterly. Sorry Frosty Hollows.... ( just get some of that tuby type draught sealer. I added it to mine so it is doubled up. Takes ten mins to open the door but am not heating up the whole of Newbury now....

I'm lydford way but client is in Mary tavy, I've got a 4x4 so hopefully would be able to get to her and offered my portable electric heater but she won't take it. Luckily she has the village shop but imagine that would be stripped bear if we get snow forecasted! Can't believe BBC Radio Devon said it will rain next week ?
One of my besties lives in Mary Tavy. If it does all get hideous message me, and I'll let her know too. Sometimes though with the elderly you've got to just go ahead and do it. ( I have one next door and my parents are too) She will need a new gas bottle soon so you are only getting it for her earlier than she needs. ?

And we should also be prepared for snow to die out as it heads Westwards, especially inland, as happens the 'normal' way around!
However I am excited at the prospect of big snow showers developing in the daytime.
There must be a chance of a reverse Bristol Channel streamer or South Coast streamers?
What we need is an M4 streamer to reconcile its appalling behaviour of late

Adhesives are pretty good these days as long as you clean the surface you are sticking them on first and of course don't use the cheapest one available!
I did mine before the winter.. doubled up on some already there. The round type excluder not the bristle ones. Worked fine and am hopeless at DIY

Well the METO have the yellow ⚠️ out for Tuesday now along east / south east of England ... it’s started peeps. I’m getting those snow shovels tomorrow ... alas am on electricity so it will just have to be the throw away BBQ and plenty of jumpers for me. Bet the bosses of the big six energy companies are rubbing their hands in glee. ?

South West and Central Southern England Regional Weather Discussion 22/02/2018 Onwards

Just poked my head round the south ease thread door... saw a video of Southend and now feel sick. Britain’s weather can be so cruel... friends I know are now posting asking “what snow” when there has literally been a wafting of icing.... and pictures with their two feet “ saying two feet here” ... when clearly no snow. I may start crying now ?
