Yes definitely! Although as excited we all are with the prospects of this cold weather the elderly and vulnerable certainly need to be ready and looked after, even if it is half as bad as expected it will be a torrid time for some. I will certainly go and see some of my vulnerable neighbours to see if I can he play.
Also don't forget to feed the birds! It will be tough for them as well!
? birds yes.. good reminder!!!! Thank you I’ll go get some food tomorrow and pick up one of the half price snow shovels I saw at the weekend... (no one has cottoned on yet )

Things certainly looking good for our region, still struggling not to tell family though!!! I will not mention anything I promise.
It already feels bitter outside!! What an earth will it feel like next week!!
what snow radar do people use?? Any decent apps on IOS?
I did tell my elderly parents to be ready for some very very cold weather as they do their shopping once a week tomorrow, that’s ok though isn’t it? Mind you Dad was like” we saw 62 and 63 ..” it’ll be fine.

Morning all.
Been stupidly busy at work so just been poking my head round the door every now and then to look at your posts as a mental breather and to cheer me up. I know they say don’t take much notice of weather apps so I haven’t really. Been showing wonderful sunshine for next week for my area albeit flipping ‘ taters . Apart from today where well we will have light snow it seems. Ambitious weather. ??

My radar is showing a snow shower traveling Southwestwards down the M5 currently just south of Wellington. Can anyone confirm this or is it just high level evaporation?
Can’t see anything on the netweather radar?......?

how long does anyone think it will last?
Well if Crewecold can consume half a bottle of the Bombay gin in a day? Then his bottle will last two days.. is that what you meant? We’ve moved away from the weather now as mant have moved to the next level of ginsteria.

Just had a lovely LARGE gin and tonic to celebrate the days model outputs
I’ve just inhaled two chocolate flakes to celebrate (school night no gin allowed) and reminded myself must stock up with several packets of flakes for pending lamppost watching.

You're clearly NOT an entrepreneur , you should have bought the lot, then next week drive to Kent park outside another garden centre and sell the lot. Of course should everything go wrong (as it could because @Mapantz is not on board) then you would need to drive to Finland to make your money
You are right indeed.. may have to go back tomorrow in that case ha ha. Could always sell them to the local canoe club as “super oars “... can you image the till persons face when I take the lot...

. Tried to upload a photo but nw not having any of it. Anyway garden centre this morn selling off their snow shovels for half price.. hmm hope they regret that. I didn’t buy one of course ??

*Blub* Me and the eldest mad cakes this morning :-) Just collected youngest from nursery (outdoor yurt nursery) she is a drowned cold rat so snuggled her up on thick blankies to defrost. Blankets and tv all round :-D We have a toot toot train set set up for later :-D
I know she doesn't like me and that's fine but it hurts that she doesn't want my babies at such a young age. They change so quickly. I guess realistically I'm mad expecting her to do something to my children that she didn't even know how to do with us - looking after emotional needs and playing etc.
It can be taken in 2 ways really - A good miss that they don't need to be under her negative bad influence or just really sad that they are missing out. Esp when she does see them they ask for her for weeks after :-(
Any way enough about me. Life is hard enough with no snow LOL. Valium anyone? ;-)
Sorry to hear that. Alas with my brother and his family it is the other way around. Only wants to see my parents on their terms and when there is money to be had. He and wife and my nephew live abroad so they don't see their grandson - They never thanked my parents for money they gave them (and bearing in mind my parents aren't wealthy and elderly) ... Anyhow, isn't there proverb like Nought so Queer as Folk or something?
very disappointing weather ...rain and rain and rain. From now on anyone mentions any scope of snow, its a lie. A big fat lie. We never ever can have snow here ever ever again ever. It isn't physically possible.
Gin on the other hand is guaranteed. I can forecast the next PPN filling my glass.

Right, here it comes, it was very quiet about 10 or so mins ago, now wind is distinctly picking up .. won’t be long I suppose before that sodding rain arrives- couple of hours?

Have I missed something ? The warning for tomorrow over south west only now mentions wind and rain? Am sure there was mention of snow in an earlier update or was I just blissfully dreaming..

Brilliant post from Nick F in the Mad thread. Really should put some at ease, but no doubt many will just ignore it or forget within 10 mins lol
Indeed brilliant. Just read it. Technically I couldn’t quite understand .. but I get the gist and the tone. This SsW is really quite something and not to be underestimated. Could be more cold to come? Must admit, as raw as that wind was it was bloody lovely out there today.

I don’t think so unfortunately, think you’ll find the temps rising quite quickly ahead of the front... I’ll happily be proven wrong though (for your sake!)
Temps are rising slowly by the judge of the damn ménage. But raining ever so slightly now so am pleased! I can put the horse out! ( one can’t go on frozen ground as it bruises the soles of his feet sensitive flower)

We have woken up to ice on cars here, and freezing temps. Haven’t checked yet but no doubt around -2 or -1. But the interesting thing is we have rain turning up probably in the next hour. Which actually will be a blessing for me this morn, as I could do without hard ground in about 2 hours or so. Question is will it or just be freezing rain. Or dare I say it some snow. radar is definitely saying rain with no change. Let’s see heh?
