  1. I've gone for 80% chance of a mild winter. As 9 times out of 10 that's our default weather in winter in the UK. But only time will tell.
  2. Well very quiet in here at the moment. And looking at the output on the models it seems after this week we will be once again dominated by low pressure close to the UK. The gfs keeps it rather warm and more settled in the south for a time. Where as the North remains unsettled and rather cool into next week.
  3. Still looks like a n/w s/e split next week on this mornings gfs 00z warm with some good spells of fine weather in the south. Whilst those in the n/w continue with the dire summer so far yes they are some decent looking days but remains unsettled at times. And looking at fi on the gfs I think it's gone off on one I would totally ignore that 35c at night. #dontthinkso#
  4. Well once again the gfs 00z paints a all too familiar picture again this morning a glancing blow of warmth over the weekend for southern parts of the UK. While the north looks cooler and showery. And believe it or not we could be looking at a frost for parts of far north of England tommorow night. August certainly looking like a carbon copy of late July for at least the first 10 days.
  5. Well looking at this mornings gfs it all looks pretty depressing if it's hot and sunny you crave. Yes they looks like been some warmer days further south. But further north more of the same looking at the gfs00z cool cloudy and at times wet. Looking like August is going to be another cool month overall.
  6. Well the ECM is all over the place this morning. The gfs 00z and the ens after the 5th has us back in a cool westerly pattern. As we lose the heat pool. So after the heat of this week we should see a gradual cool down with showers into next week. With the south hanging onto the warmer weather longest. Before we all go back into a cooler westerly set up.
  7. Looking at the gfs 00z it looks like a north/south split next week. Cooler and showery in the north. Whilst the south remains on the warmer side of things. Temps around average in the north while the south remains in the twenties.
  8. yes the gfs has been rock solid in its output for heights building towards Greenland. Certainly looking likely now that we will from this weekend be entering a cooler showery theme.
  9. Well the gfs is like a dog with a bone again and doesn't want to let go of the height rises into Greenland somewhere around the 20th. So towards this weekend it's looking cold and showery for many
  10. Just Been looking at mark vogans latest video on this summer. He was looking at the models and he seems pretty confident of a cool wet summer ahead. Just hope the models and himself are wide of the mark.
  11. Looks like South yorkshire could get a real pasting tonight looking at the latest chart updates. Think west yorkshire will just about miss out. But next week still has plenty more opertunitys.
  12. Sounds like northern Ireland into Wales and into South west for this polar low. Ah well.
  13. Woo hoo heavy Thunder snow in Huddersfield total white out everything covered.
  14. Radar looking a lot better now guys. Hopefully it's game on from here on in
  15. dont panic lol just seen gritter with snowplough attached here in kirkless.
  16. Big clump of showers moving down from Cumbria. Wonder if they have our name on them.
  17. wow 10/11 o clock think I will have to see what we have in the morning then been up since 4am. Shame it couldn't start now.
  18. Nowt at all in huddersfield looks like we're in a gap on radar. Rubbish lol
  19. Was feeling rather confident earlier for West Yorkshire for tonight's events but after watching latest on news 24 I'm now not so sure. But tommorow morning looks abit more intresting.
  20. Think with the troughs moving down the country we should all see some decent accumulations especially across the pennines. I wouldn't rule out upto 10-15cms.
  21. Looking at the met forecast I think we might see at least 5cm to low levels tommorow afternoon night with upto 10cm on higher ground. Think the commute to work Thursday for many could be fun especially west and South Yorkshire.
  22. Some great looking charts so far ukmo looks a peach. Hopefully we see the ECM t168 chart showing the cold uppers flooding in. Gfs also looking favourable with widespread snow showers. All In all a great set of charts so far.
  23. Good afternoon folks. Well it looks like little old yorkshire may just see some good snowfalls from Wednesday onwards. Think 10cm isn't out of the question reading latest met update. Think the gritter drivers are gonna be busy again later this week.
  24. I think once we see the rainband move through our region weds morning we should see things become much colder with snow showers as we head into afternoon early evening. Then looks like a unstable trough moves through on Thursday bringing us further snowfall. Which will freeze hard and should last well into the weekend. My thoughts are well in advance of 15cm for the hills with lower levels seeing at least 3-5cm
