I hope so! .... Hope life out of the UK is to your liking,must be a great change to this country.

Not long to go then to misery......

Dreading the onset of the dark cloud that is Summer,leaving my favourite season of the year as Winter draws closer to the end fills me with a feeling of foreboding,for me Spring and Summer only bring misery,seriously will be making the most of what's left of this poor winter and will soon be counting the days to that welcome Autumn. It won't come quick enough.

For me personally driving to work in the dark and watching a sunrise is the best part of my day,that first change of light is fantastic,the way it changes the landscape in the matter of minutes,something lost in the summer months with such a early sunrise.

For me the light levels will hit their best in about a months time,little bit more morning and evening light but nothing to much. Realise my view is different,but for me the increase in light levels is at the best uncomfortable.

A balmy minus 6 in Grenoside Sheffield today,lovely start to the day!

I suspect sadly i have been proved right.....first time for everything i suppose! This winter will go down as very poor even with today's snow which i was in,nothing to right home about at all. The snowflake generation just like all the hype i'm afraid from the media,driving home last night the roads were quiet at rush hour,all the snowflakes were tucked up in their warm little houses,god help them if they had a to go through a proper winter! i'm still working in shorts at the end of January that's how bad its been!!!

Sadly it really looks i was proved right,a rainbow winter it is,never delivering,that pot of gold just disappears as soon as we get near it. Oh well always next year...Just hope this summer isn't a repeat of 2018,i couldn't stand that!!

Fully agree,the phrase "Rainbow winter" is more correct way of describing the UK winters,that pot of gold seems near but never actually arrives. This winter is shaping up to be just that,seen it time after time sadly. Just hope folk don't get to worked up when what shows on the models never actually comes true.

Sadly starting to think this will turn out to be a rainbow winter...when the pot of gold gets near it just vanishes.

Already counting the days to this coming Autumn,......if only i could skip Spring and Summer i would be so happy!

I fear there will be broken hearts soon on the Hunt for Cold thread,mother nature will just be teasing again i suspect. But at least it brings a bit of happiness for a brief few hours

Strange New Years Eve,folk walking about in woolly hats,scarfs thick jackets gloves you name it...very strange at 12c! It's as though they need to wear everything they got for xmas at the same time,very weird.

Seasonal weather this is not,working today and after lugging 3 70kg bits of kit up 3 flights of stairs coming out into 12c temps isn't what i call refreshing!....From what i'm seeing could be the first winter for a long time i'm staying in shorts,just a touch of Winter would be nice!

Sadly longer days from now on....

Nothing so far this Winter to get me out of working in shorts,xmas looking mild,New year possibly also,fingers crossed January will come up with the proper seasonal weather.....wouldn't bet on it though!

11c heavy rain,certainly a Autumn feel today,good job i'm in shorts still,wouldn't want to get to hot! But seriously not a great day for summer at all,especially on a bank holiday,lot of folk effected,not good at all.

Yesterday was near on a perfect Summers day for late August,today well that's different but that's what makes the UK climate so much better,one day differs to the next.

For me that's a price well paid for the cleaner fresher air. Still T shirt and shorts weather I know you'd disagree!

Always found it interesting how folk can have totally opposite views with regard to weather,for me Polar maritime air is by far the best source for air in the UK, But we are all different and i suppose that's what counts!

Can understand you wanting those temps it is still August!,Sunday even i must admit looks crap for most. but 14c for me is lovely,just right,i suspect you may get something more to your liking first half of next month,to be honest i wouldn't really mind it either,it would be short lived and not so intense,better for sleeping in..and for my aircon running bill!
