  1. Loving getting up in the dark now, just feels so much better! ...normal time is before 5am though!
  2. I get your view totally,it's just after 2 months of static, relentless weather i for one are yearning for that change. Please i don't want any washout,no howling gales,no cold temps but a pleasant mixture of weather. For me 18 to 20c and sunny is far far more usable than anything over 25c for both working and enjoying time out and about. Yes unbroken sunshine at those temps in this country is rare but even with some cloud outdoor activities away from the beach are just as comfortable if not more so i feel.
  3. Well that's because its raining! Sunny and 18c will probably see just as many out if not more than 30c. Nobody could call sat in 18c in the sun cold or even cool! There is a change coming but nothing that could be called poor over several days. Just normal UK summer weather at last, long over due. Each day it could change, something sadly missing this summer.
  4. 25c is more that hot enough for most, anything over that and yes activity outdoors, especially strenuous becomes uncomfortable many find. It's all about being comfortable on that we are all different. Personally anything over 25c and i stay indoors, just find it much more bearable.
  5. Can't argue with anything there totally agree Cheese, nobody should want this school holiday period spoilt by prolonged rain and wind. No matter what their preference is.
  6. Not if your working, very good temps for getting about i feel, staff at sites i visit have suffered so much, this week will be a blessing. Maybe if you've outdoor plans with young children though not so good. But by no means cool and no washout.
  7. What a beautiful summers Saturday,20c,blue sky gentle breeze, totally perfect. Who could moan at this!. Fingers crossed the rest of summer pans out like this,a very welcome change
  8. Its not really about jumping ship, the METO only react to actual model predictions, they don't have a preference.
  9. My definition of heat is when i feel the heat. A numerical definition is useless,it can be 25c high humidity and feel awful,it can be 28c low humidity and feel far more comfortable. All i meant to put was at 30c plus the chances of it being more uncomfortable were a lot higher for a sizeable proportion of the population. You are different, you long for the higher temps,i get that,so what,i'm different again so what? i'm not sure what point your repeatedly trying to make, sorry. Drop me a PM if you want to continue this, the thread isn't for arguing on. Thanks.
  10. Err....you've lost me. I was referring to inland areas,All over the UK that have a tourist industry. Sheffield as much as i love it ain't really a tourist mecca to be honest
  11. The trend is still for a much more comfortable August, the heat only in the far South and South East. This could well improve the tourist areas away from the coast, nearly nobody wants to go wandering around in plus 30c temps, especially with children who are now off school. A balanced end of Summer is far better than any extreme.
  12. Every MSM forecast is now using the same words..Bearable,comfortable,relief for sleeping. Joyous words to so many who have suffered this summer. This August will not be a washout, neither will it be a blazing heat wave. Every model is showing something slightly different, this indicates a more mobile fresher setup in my view. So thankful the appalling heat in Spain and Portugal has little or no chance of hitting these shores. To many have really found it so hard this Summer,a gentle pleasant last 3rd to Summer would be perfect now.
  13. Awfully nice of you to say so old chap, thank you so much Its about time i was appreciated on here! Just for the record where did i say low 20c sunny, gentle breeze wasn't perfect? To me that is a perfect summers day!!! Where did i say we would get a cloud fest, wet and cool??
  14. We shall see,i know were i'd put my money if i was a betting man. The red for heat would not be it! Once mobility has a foothold in the UK a lengthy return to a previous setup is very unlikely.
  15. I'll stick my neck out and stand by that. No washout but also no prolonged heat for most now,the last 3rd of Summer is certainly showing a gradual(but not linear) cool down,to be honest as i would expect after 2 months we have just had.
  16. A lot of straw clutching going on here today, but a change is coming,no more protracted heat(thank god),warmth yes but no repeat or reload of the last 2 months, that ain't going to happen. More of a normal pleasant month coming up. Nothing wrong with that.
  17. You've hit the nail on the head there with regard to my so called moaning I've had 2 months now of working in largely 35c plus temps every day, many over 40c(record was 43c) No aircon is allowed due to CQC requirements.Surely i'm entitled to moan a little bit? A old fart like myself can only take so much!
  18. Are you saying i moan about the weather!??. And am a miserable whinger!? ......I'm gobsmacked Ps hope your partners on the mend with his finger. I did that once on the North coast of Scotland, wouldn't have minded so much but the van i was in had a sliding door!. Still bloody hurt!
  19. And whats the name of this thread? The word after Model and before ramp.? i'll still be here, sorry to disappoint you.
  20. Good luck Ed,hang on in there,it has to end sometime soon! The weather gods can't be this cruel much longer can they?
  21. Just seen the forecast for the next 10 days for London. My thoughts go out to the many who dislike heat, high 20's into low 30's for most of the time with resultant high night temps. After the 2 months they've just endured this must be the last thing those folk who suffer with the heat would want. It must be so uncomfortable. and for some dangerous.
  22. Everybody is different, that's what makes each of use unique. I've not owned a jumper since school days 40 years ago, never needed to wear one. But conversely i haven't had a foreign holiday,ie in the sun for nearly as long,we are all different. Autumn for me i greet and look forward to like i'm sure you do to Spring,it's just our individual make up,how we are wired.
