  1. Seems to be a broken buoy, false high. It's seems to be situated where the isobars are tightestcos they have to rapidly increase and then decrease the pressure over the buoy.
  2. Seems to be a broken buoy giving a false high pressure reading.
  3. Just realised, the blob on the IR is over the IOM, the centre of the thing isn't. Has the buoy sunk??
  4. Looks like it might be at the front tip of the outer band that wraps around the west side. Anyone here on the Isle of Man that can tell up what's happening on the ground? Seems to be right on top of them.
  5. Someone just posted it. It dissipates, but seems to pop up again at 20:55
  6. Got a link for the eurosat infrared?. The one that updates frequently? I've just got Cesium water vapour and IR that updates hourly. What would the pressure chart look like for a sting jet?
  7. I wouldn't know where to start. It's supposedly from observations. I noticed what someone else mentioned - the wind directions seem strange. It began as a wee kink in the isobars at 18:00 and was there at 19:00. I've only just found it myself.
  8. It's from here. It's the pressure observation map, not a model, apparently. http://www.xcweather.co.uk/
  9. Someone mentioned this earlier. What on earth is going on in the Irish Sea?
  10. And another thing whilst I'm on a rant! I understand that there is a reluctance to over-warn people because if it doesn't come off then next time they might just ignore it. That is their choice! However if you fail to warn sufficiently, people can end up injured or dead because of the lack of warning and that is not by their choice. Right, I'm done ranting. Normal service will be resumed.
  11. It's getting pretty windy here now. I'll be going out to fill haynets and do the horses for the night in about 2 hours. I'll be under trees so I'm wearing my climbing helmet.
  12. Right. Here's a prime example of what really annoys me. The BBC have a live page which is constantly updated. Down one side they have a summary. That summary mentions what's been happening in ROI and then we get this little gem. "Amber wind warnings are in place in Northern Ireland and in parts of Wales". No mention that parts of Scotland also have an amber warning. Anyone who looks to that live page for a quick summary will be misled. Thanks, English Broadcasting Corporation. Then again it's not as if the Met Office emphasised this until it was too late. They put out their amber warnings for parts of Wales and parts of Scotland AFTER the morning commute to work or school. I'm sorry to go on about this, but I'm really annoyed and seeing that BBC summary was the final straw.
  13. Ithink there's asurge coming ashore here, just a wee one
  14. Horrible in Waterford now, very heavy rain and horizontal bunting.
  15. I wonder if the girl dancing while her friend videos her knows that a bunch of weather nerds are watching her
  16. The fog rolled in here again and it's a real yellow split pea souper. I'm behind a blanket of yellow fog! And I'm getting frit! Very little wind to speak of. Not too cold outside, but I can see my breath. Current elevation 600 ft, visibility nope, rain stopped.
  17. Also have you got the linkie for Inch beach? If not, here it is, getting rougher there now
