    Interestingly 6z looks very much like the latest METO update - settled weather taking over after the 1st week of December..

    GFS 6z more amplified into FI which is a signal i hope we can build on in subsequent runs ..

    EC mean at day 10 doesn't make pretty reading, strong positive pressure anomaly over Spain and a pretty horrid profile all round really, quite a strong +NAO signal... Lets hope Exeter have this right, although in fairness they are not suggesting any cold until mid month,so patience is for sure going to be needed.

    EC sticking with the arctic high this morning(a whopping 1045mb),although the Atlantic across all the model suite looks very very angry.. So, a period of mild, wet and windy weather looks nailed on for the 1st week of Dec, don't think there is any escaping that.. We are going to need the Atlantic to start playing ball thereafter, so i think its fair to say any potential cold is going to be 'down the line'..

    LOL Blue. GFS turning on the zonal turbo tonight, ukmo looks more amplified out to the east so i'll not be losing any sleep over GFS..

    A bit of patience is going to be required. Thats fine with me as Dec is still a week away. The signal for an arctic high still there towards the end of EC this morning.. GFS showing a warming in the strat at day 8/9 which then wanes to be followed by another towards the end of the run-

    Arctic high beginning to have an influence later on the EC det- will assist forcing the jet south.. No deep cold over the Canadian side of the NH -usually a good sign for UK cold!!

    Oh yes something is brewing... i'm going to keep a quiet watching brief reasonably confident a lot us will be much more excited in a week or so's time..

    It is, but i have a feeling this unsettled blip will be just that, a blip. I suspect as i have just posted, a number of EC ens will be showing height rises over scandy (not a block ), but enough to see some energy digging into Europe. Then again iv'e just finished a 60 hour week on night shift so could be going delirious!! Perhaps Blue will be on later to offer some thoughts if this is feasible ..

    EC mean suggests to me quite a few members are showing some height rises in the scandy locale and a slight shift south of the jet - Thats my take on it anyway..

    Well for sure we are indeed looking at an unsettled phase, i might be clutching at the old straws a little but i feel day by day 10 on the EC the jet is about to start digging into Europe and allowing for a more WNW direction of attack.

    Yes, i think we have pretty solid agreement now of an unsettled phase, interest now turns to what happens thereafter..
