  1. Isn't there a history thread for all these reminisces about storms etc?
  2. yes exactly between 2-3pm..more storms yesterday evening
  3. yes i remember this simply because it happened they day before i flew to Tenerife on hols
  4. well September is usually nice..had my first t-storm of the season yesterday afternoon
  5. I used to have a site in Coatbridge in Scotland and used to fly up there for 2 days once a fortnight...always used to stay in the premier inn there..and always asked for room 53 because it was quiet, was brand new and had a huge bed..plus the girl on reception was a bit of a babe
  6. be prepared for yet more rain..showers and thunderstorms up until Friday..and now they are saying from Friday onwards 5 or 6 days of continuous rain..and temps in single figures..this is why i dislike Canada in spring..always cold and wet
  7. Just heavy rain here and lots more to come today as well
  8. Yep best summer of all time in my book...beats 76..with 2003 and 2006 not fit to lick its boots.
  9. i have dual furnaces in my house..one heats the downstairs and one heats the upstairs..as a result i have dual thermostat controls for upstairs and down..one in the hallway and one in my bedroom..so both give a constant reading of the temperature in those locations...during the winter my bedroom is kept at a constant 15-20c when i am at home..during the summer months the heating system is off..so i try and keep my bedroom temp the same 15-20c..this is near impossible during warm weather and last summer it often reached 30c..so i placed an air con unit in my bedroom too bring the temp back down to below 20c..thunderstorms are a god send as i open all the windows in the house and the downdraft acts like natures air conditioning and will cool the whole house down to a comfortable 16/17c in a matter of minutes.
  10. had my first proper rainfall since August 24th last year yesterday evening...looks like a pretty shabby long weekend coming up
  11. El Nino didnt happen so your out of luck.
  12. Had the air conditioning on 2 or 3 times already...last year that dint happen until the last week of June
  13. yep just about to enter storm season..which runs from mid May to mid August approx...with a peak around mid June to end of July..summer 2010 was particularly stormy and had at least one storm everyday for nearly 6 weeks.
  14. Another warm/hot spring weekend here...reached 29c yesterday.
  15. Mainly due to increased snow cover over North America and Canada...Eurasia came in around average
  16. Nobody is interested in snow here anymore..what is of interest is we will hit 26 -27c(81F) today
  17. its not as simple as that..dont forget huge areas of world food production are in low lying areas that would be underwater due to rises in sea levels.
  18. not in Alasaka..January was i think the 11th mildest for that region on record and February the region was split between cold and mild..temps for Fairbanks have been not far of the mean average or slightly above for the first four months of the year.
  19. doesnt look anything like summer 2006?
  20. its bit like rolling a dice things balance out over a longer period of time..for example in relative terms..we did not have a bad summer after 1988 until 2007
  21. only a trend in your part of the world..there is more to the climate of the NH than the UK
  22. had a nice weekend here..Saturday i even had my windows open as it was nice and warm..today looks pretty crappy and getting colder with possible snow this evening and overnight and then not getting much above freezing tomorrow...did look like it was going to very warm and sunny this weekend coming with temps hitting 25c by Friday and Saturday..now they are saying showers or rain and 12c
  23. I dont really remember May 1991..dont remember any snow..i do remember that May 89, 90 and 92 were all warm and sunny
