Good to see Jimmy top of the tree..great player good bloke too..my best friend loved Alex Higgins and we frequented the snooker halls of Essex and south east London during our teens and early 20's..i was better than him at pool he was better at snooker often notching a century break..my all time best is a 79 clearance.
  5. As each of the community forums aren't highlighted anymore but the the sub forums are.... it all blurs into just one big page of sub forums..a bit of colour would have been nice

Has been the longest winter since i have been here..but not the coldest or the snowiest..that goes to winter 2010-11...winter itself was on the mild side with not very much snow..trouble is it was preceded by a cold snowy Autumn and has been followed by a cold snowy spring so far... i have had very close to 7 months of continuous snow cover to date...still the prospect for warmer weather are looking better towards the end of the week at last.

  8. I was hoping the forecast for the weekend would have changed..but no..snow and -5c for Sunday...
  9. 2009 was a decent summer in the south east..hot spell last week June first week of July rest of summer was reasonably dry and not to bad at all temps wise mostly low to mid 20s..i was living in Ruislip at the time and was my last summer in the UK.
  10. Cant forget the rubbish wet cool summer of 1988.i got other reasons to remember summer 1988..not least England's woeful performance at Euro 88..and other things not allowed to mention on here
  11. Judging by the ice thickness which is way more important than ice extent..i expect things to melt rapidly through June, July and Aug...record territory again.

  15. big winter storm about to hit most of Albetta today inc Edmonton and Calgary up to 30cm of snow forecast..oh the joys of April in Canada...doh
  16. April has been dire so far here..we are running at some 10c below normal..another cold and snowy weekend to come..forecast high temp for Sunday of -7c and staying below freezing until mid week at the earliest..no sign of any warm spring weather on the horizon either..thoroughly depressing.
  17. Its one of those crappy snow days today..the day when it was forecast to be dry with sunny spells...instead it is just humping it down...
  18. Was a cold dreary weekend and got colder as the weekend went on..snowy end to yesterday and over night..still have flurries around with a temp of -11c..may get a temp rest bite mid week before it turns cold and snowy again next weekend...summer seems a long way away right now.

  21. Had more snow again overnight..although it is forecast to warm up today,,the cold and snow is set to return for the weekend and early next week...this is the time of year i really dislike Canadian weather..snow snow go away come again another day..preferably after mid November thanks
