  1. A fairly decent start to the day with the sky having this unusual blue colour. Will probably be cloudy in a couple of hours time though.
  2. We have even had days in November that have felt more summery than some of the days we have had this month. Crazy.
  3. You and me both! I think each season is beautiful in its own way. Spring is all about new beginnings and nature coming back to life, summer is when nature is at its peak and you are enjoying the great outdoors, autumn is all about mellow fruitfulness and settling down whereas winter is about cosiness and crisp fresh days with snow being a bonus.
  4. I think a mild and wet autumn is on the cards for this year, kind of similar to last autumn. But with a cold anticyclonic spell during the second half of November, bringing the first frost of the season.
  5. Fingers crossed that August will be a better month for us all.
  6. Not too bad of a day here, though it still had more of a September feel to it rather than July. Alternating clouds and sun and a top temp of 18 Celsius.
  7. Yes, seasons should be seasonal in my opinion. The weather we had back in February is the kind of weather we should be having now. In fact, February 2019 had days that were warmer than what we are experiencing this July. It's just so wrong.
  8. 1st of August will be the first pre 9pm sunset for this neck of the woods since 17th of May.
  9. I usually start noticing new year calendars and diaries being sold in shops from mid to late August. So only one month to go.
  10. I dread to think. The amount of bickering is one of the reasons why I enjoy being on here. Far more entertaining than anything on Netflix.
  11. I was expecting today to be another washout, but it's actually turned out quite nice. 22°C, pleasant sunny spells and a gentle breeze.
  12. I am begninning to lose track of all these hater club threads.
  13. So many haters clubs on here. But yeah, this current weather pattern is awful. Nothing like high summer at all. Hopefully August will be better.
  14. I am going for an August with temps around average this year but much more settled than this month. 16.4°C and 70mm for me please.
  15. That's the good old British climate for you. I haven't had a holiday since 2008. I think we're both long overdue one now.
  16. At least a chocolate fireguard could be eaten. More than what could be done with this current weather.
  17. That would be equally as awful as this so called summer. Seasons should be seasonal.
  18. Yes, definitely worse than 2012 and that's saying something. At least in July 2012 there was a warm sunny spell towards the end of the month. Doesn't look as if there's going to be any of that during the remainder of this month. This July for me is actually reminiscent of July 2007. Unseasonably cyclonic throughout with little to no warm days. Both Julys are also a year after great summers.
  19. It seems that whenever a hosepipe ban is declared, the heavens open with a vengeance and it stays that way for several weeks.
  20. I can tolerate cloud more if we are going to actually get something useful out of it. But otherwise what's the point? If nothing is going to happen then it may as well be sunny.
  21. I am in Brum, and yes one thing this summer has provided us with this year is thunderstorms. Quite a nice surprise seeing as anything interesting seems to be rather hard to come by these days. For that as well as the warm sunny weather we had in June, I'd so far rate this summer as being a 3/10.
  22. Looks like yet another unsettled weekend is on the cards.
  23. Whilst I wouldn't want 40 Celsius over here, I would find it enjoyable whilst on holiday abroad where I can sit by the pool and lounge on the beach all day. Plus the fact that the hotel would have air conditioning. I would never in a million years cancel it to make way for a holiday in this country with such unpredictable summer weather. If people are going to book a holiday somewhere abroad, then they need to do some research into the climate.
  24. It certainly isn't just those wanting summer heat who are guilttripped, we were guilttripped constantly during the winter for wanting cold and snow. Nobody should be guilttripped for wanting a certain weather type. There is no right or wrong - it's purely personal preference.
