  1. It will be mild but also very wet, pretty pointless if your stuck indoors with the heating on anyway?
  2. Not sure if we're allowed to go back this far, but I'll try may 1833.
  3. For me autumn was exactly as I like it, hot summery start, wet and stormy middle, cold and frosty end. Would've liked a few more Atlantic storms but hey ho!
  4. Your not allowed to be interested in snow because it doesn't exist.
  5. February 2019 obviously the most extreme example. In fact it could even be described as summer-like. Which is funny because it snowed at the beginning of the month. I'm not so sure about December 2015, while it was warm, it didn't feel like spring but rather an extreme mild winter month there was basically no sunlight whatsoever, at least here anyway
  6. Your location really hit the sweet spot, if the background signals hint at this winter being back loaded as pointed out numerous times, then it could be one hell of a winter up your way!
  7. Perhaps, but it's all gone now, currently 9.3c and it has been a very wet day here.
  8. 'The cold is hard to shift', is all you read in the mod thread, yet it pushed the cold air aside with ease last night in about an hour a 8c temp rise, that's the cold snap over.
  9. Its quite windy out there now and the temp has shot up from -3c to +5c in the space of an hour.
  10. Can't work out how it is possible, we need extreme synoptics to see even 1 snowflake on the south coast these days.
  11. Amazing how the atmosphere works, had rain at -3c before the temps starting to climb about an hour ago here, must have frozen on impact but haven't been outside to check.
  12. From a high of -0.5c today to a forecast high of 10c tomorrow, winter does see some big temperature swings!
  13. It's still -0.7c here on the coast that's extraordinary for the 2nd December, did t expect that at all!
  14. You should move down here neves, if cold and snow isn't your thing.
  15. It's all relative to what you're used to, a cold spell inthe 80s was probably also a fart in the wind compared to the 1800s
  16. Nice to have a chilly opening to winter, a couple of light frosts here nothing out of the ordinary before a return to double figures and rain on sunday onwards. All pretty normal really.
