Thanks for your summary snowy... The EC 46 as just updated the 6 month anomalies, and again they remain steadfast that most of Europe is warmer than average through December, January looking potentially colder than average, with February looking well above average for the UK and again large parts of Europe.. Plenty of time for all this to change further down the line, but not great currently.

Hi gang not been posting much lately but still having a catch up, and good to see the standard still remains very high. Quick one on tonights EC weeklies... Next week we have High Pressure bringing some decent conditions at times and especially further South, towards next weekend we need to keep an eye on a deep Low situated to the NE bringing some potentially much cooler and wetter conditions... Into the following week things look to improve again with High Pressure again building in from the SW.. so all in all some very usable conditions to look forward to over the next couple of weeks.. Hi mate, I've not been following them long enough to bring a true reflection on how they are performing. I would say take with a huge pinch of salt on anything that is so far out.. And just for the record they are quite a bit different to last months anomalies.. But at this kind of range it's to be expected.. They run on the 5th of every month so hopefully I may be able to bring a more stable roundup closer to the time.. If they are showing the same kind of situation come November I may get a little concerned.. But at this stage I won't be getting to concerned.. Namely they show warmer conditions over Scandy and Europe... Come January they have pockets of warmer air over the UK with colder air in place over Southern and Western areas.. They also show colder air over France and Spain..

Last night's EC46 on cue for a more settled Bank Holiday, but cloud amounts could be an issue at times. Beyond this we perhaps see an increase in temps later next week, and possibly some decent conditions. Into the following week it does trend more unsettled especially further North, but with these conditions spreading South at times. Towards mid month and beyond is still looking pretty good with High Pressure having more influence. Just to mention the 7 Month anomalies, at this stage they are predicting a rather cold November, but a warmer December... This is also true for much of Europe and Scandy... Hope to god its not going to be another 2019 re run... Only time will tell... Enjoy your weekends..

Hold on in there Mike, we have other members on here who suffer similar conditions to you and they are a great bunch of lads.. Likewise to anyone else on here.. To bring a little cheer, last nights EC46 brings a more settled Bank Holiday, but it remains on the cool side, so know late plume event.. Beyond that we have further intrusions of unsettled conditions at times, but these more focused on the NW... but they could spread further SE at times. Further into the month and the signs are High Pressure will have more influence especially further South.. So there is the possibility of quite alot of settled Conditions at times.. Quite a lot of weather entertainment for the coming week, perhaps a better day next Thursday according to the EC46.. Trends a little more unsettled after that though.. Still positive signs from last night's EC weeklies regarding September... High pressure looks to be in control, especially away from the far NW, this pattern could hold right through to mid month and possibly beyond.. All along way off, but the trend is our friend going on its current guidance. Enjoy your weekends, that's if you don't get blowed away..

Not much to get excited about currently, and good lord it's so quite in here. But have a little patience folks.. Last night's EC46 is looking much more positive come Bank Holiday weekend! High pressure builds in nicely around this time, and guess what, this theme Continues into September.. Looks pretty good.

I'm not sure I agree mate.. I don't think the models have come to grasps with the current situation right now. We are living in unprecedented times don't forget. And as tams would say its the background drivers that lead the models, and those drivers are a little out of soughts right now. I would agree its becoming more changeable over the coming days, but I feel perhaps things will Improve towards the end of the month and 1st part of September! And let's not forget there is still plenty of time for some decent Heat to manifest. If I'm proven wrong mate I will send some Champagne your way, and likewise you can return the favour...

Right folks a little bit of cheer from me this morning, don't get to down about the conditions becoming more unsettled over the next week or so. Last night's EC weeklies were pretty positive, especially for the South come the end of the month, High Pressure is ridging nicely at times, and this pattern continues to hold into Mid September. There will be a risk of more unsettled conditions towards the NW at times, but there looks to be a decent amount of settled and at times warm conditions for many. I was almost expecting to see a barrage of lows spreading West to East, but it's not the case.. Perhaps a chance to take a late Summer break if this comes off. So all in all, the longer term outlook remains pretty positive. Enjoy your Weekends.

Yes Mushy.. Looks pretty unsettled for the the next 10 day's or so... Last night's EC46 agrees with your thinking as well... Definitely signs of a marked improvement come the Bank Holiday, with a High Pressure extending from the SW to bring dare I say it... A warm and fine Holiday period... Fingers crossed.

I dont disagree.. Just flagging up the next potential settled spell and perhaps extending in to September at times especially more Southern parts the EC46 does highlight this possibility. Also worth pointing out the met mention very warm spells possible well into the next month for the South.. Still a hell of a lot to play for over the next 4 or 5 weeks... And plenty more chances for further very warm spells.. This is perhaps the times we live in these days.

Just a quick one on last night's EC46.. it basically wants to turn us more unstable through the weekend and next week, should be pretty warm at times though, especially further South. Interestingly it also wants to extend a ridge into the South by the latter part of the month, meaning a settled and warm Bank Holiday if that comes off.. That would be a rather spiffing end to Summer if it plays out that way.. In the mean time let's see what Exeter have to say today regarding it remaining settled next week which is what they've been stating the last couple of days.. Hi folks.. Its taken me all morning just to catch up with all your posts from last Wednesday.. I've noticed there is talk of a downslide into Autumn!! I'm not so sure, and I'm thinking perhaps GEM is closer to the mark, with Heights over Scandy keeping us relatively settled through the Weekend and next week.. Exeter seem to be in major disagreement with ECM regarding it turning unsettled.. Again the update is for settled conditions through next week! Someone as got it badly wrong, and at this range I can't see it being the met.. Hopefully the EC46 may shed some more light on proceedings later this evening.. It's becoming a little difficult to keep up with these posts right now folks due to the fact I can't find the time to visit as often as I would like.. But great stuff as usual.. I think the met office needs to start a mass roll out to employ some of you guys. A quick glance at the 6z mean and what is not to like! It brings us Summer lovers everything... Heat, Sunshine, and potentially some hum dinger storms.. The mean gets very close to bring +20C uppers in next week also.. That's pretty impressive for a mean.. I'm getting a bit confused here.. There seems to be far to many hindering on every operational run. I can't see how some can say we are left with a crappy Estly!! Plenty of places away from the Eastern side would see very decent conditions with that set up.. Central/Western areas more especially. Unless there is a conveyor belt of Atlantic Lows are about to rain down on us then I'm happy. Worth noting the final 3rd of the month still looks decent. No dramas from me.

Looking at the EC46 highlights the very warm/Hot conditions later this week, into next week we have High Pressure extending NE sitting just off scandinavia, could be a risk of some thundery Conditions devoloping towards the South at times, and I would say warm and humid could be a decent shout.. Further on we appear to be devoloping a N/S split with Azores ridging further south and pleasent conditions looking increasingly likely as we approach the final 3rd of the month.. Further North does look more changeable at times and cooler also.. So just a ruff summary from me thus evening... Happy Heat chasing folks.. And some absolutely brilliant posts from you guys today... Much more appealing than reading the Exeter 4 week updates..

Hi guys, your doing a great job with this next upcoming Hot spell, having a difficult time of it right now, but this place is at least relieving some of the stress.. ECM not following GFS at 120hrs..its on its own as per usual... Still looking good for sure..

Amazing Zak.. There's climate change for you.. Many years ago you may have needed a run of warm days to end up with this kind of temperature.. These days it appears we can nudge 100F in the space of 48Hours..pretty worrying when you think hard about it.. But it is what it is unfortunately

The 6Z means looks pretty promising for this time next week again.. Anybody ready for plume 3!! Just noticed the Exeter update is going for very warm even Hot conditions for the end of next week also... Just like a bus.. Ya wait for ages then 2 or 3 come at the same time..

Hi folks, it seems I've missed alot these last couple of days.. My dad has Parkinsons and had a bad fall the other day.. And it's resulted in him being admitted to Hospital.. Good news is he's on the mend, and I'm hoping to have him back very shortly.. Talk about stress.. My heart goes out to any of you guys who have various disabilities to contend with. A quick update on last night's EC46.. not had time to cover it in great detail yet.. As we all know a little more unsettled through next week, but the 46 is saying a renewed build of heights by later next week, and this holding firm through next Weekend and into the following week... Temperatures also becoming warmer again... I have a feeling August this time around could be shaping up to be much better than our recent affairs.. A very good day to you and take care in this heat if you have it to the extreme..

Tams is an excellent poster I think the Arpege is a slight upgrade on the earlier run, the record is safe from last year.. But I have a feeling 35C could be breached.. Perhaps a 36C somewhere... And that's dam Hot.

Arpege brings around 32-34c..could go higher its possible, look how close 37c is across the channel. @Mr Frost I hope you get your heat and glorious conditions before much longer.. No matter how dire your conditions are, you never moan about it, always put a light hearted tone to it.. Excellent stuff.. Enjoy this heat if you like it folks..
