  1. The NH view on the 00z ECM, nicely illustrates the eastward shift of the TPV. Day 6 to 10:
  2. Looking at the 12z ECM from D5 to D10, it looks the Azores ridge may want to pull back west somewhat. But that is about as exciting as it gets. (These may not be in the right order)
  3. What is going on? its raining right now, that is all I can be sure of.
  4. Not sure the ECM is really bringing the cold, as the high isn’t around for long enough to build cold.
  5. I’m fairly sure 850hpa is approx. 1500m (approx 5000ft)
  6. GFS continuing to show a significant double warming at 10hpa. Snapshots here from the 00z at days 6 and then 12.
  7. GFS has been showing a significant strat warm in FI for the last few runs. I’d like to see this modelled within D10, but it is interesting nonetheless. The last frame below even hints at a split.
  8. I’ll have whatever this particular CFS run is having please!
  9. ECM perhaps being more consistent with the theme of a generally NW/SE aligned jet, on the whole keeping things on the cool / occasionally cold side.
  10. GFS 00z develops a decent warming at 10 hpa. It is days 14-16 so could disappear on the next run, but if it models this for a couple of days it will pique my interest.
  11. The BBC forecast will probably change later. It won’t immediately reflect the ECM.
  12. Yes we see the vortex setting up over the CAA at the end of the GFS. Although I guess this situation could see a lot of WAA through Iceland. It’s at T384 though so will no doubt be different in the next run.
  13. This is terrible news. I only hope it has an effect, and the lockdown is not too long.
  14. Work getting in the way of model watching. Great stuff from the 6z.How long can it maintain the cold feed?
  15. By the end of the 00z op the heights to the SE are reduced but also the heights into Greenland. The control has lower heights to the SE but a less significant push of heights to the NW and into Greenland. A system then pushing south from Iceland introduces a warmer sector for a time. If it could clear to the SE it would be favourable, but don’t think it will.
