  1. This has made me realise how much of my lockdown afternoons have been dedicated to the GFS runs recently. Feel slightly lost at the moment.
  2. I think it saw how much aggro a poor ECM run caused last night and is avoiding making the same mistake.
  3. Ensembles are fantastic still with an average of around -5C from the 15th onwards with a decent cluster around -10C by the 22nd still as well. On to the 00zs, night everyone.
  4. GEFS 18z mean is an upgrade with more ridging into Greenland. 12z: 18z:
  5. Absolutely, I’ve learnt so much by reading this forum over the years and it has been great getting involved in the conversation this winter for the first time.
  6. Sorry but I don’t agree with this. There are many young people, including myself, that enjoy contributing to this thread due to our love of weather and model watching. Dismissing people’s posts as ‘nonsense’ due to their age is unfair.
  7. Yep, John Hammond also in agreement with Matt. Look forward to seeing the ensembles later.
  8. Should have waited to post the ensembles as by the 22nd there’s a decent cluster of runs that breach -10C...
  9. Evening everyone. A fantastic set of GEFS 12z ensembles once again that average around -5C from the 15th onwards. The momentum is definitely behind the colder air winning now, at least for a time. I’m hopeful for a better ECM 12z tonight now.
  10. Yes that’s definitely a possibility. Ideally you’d want the ridge further north though but that’s just my personal preference.
  11. A fairly decent day 10 chart but it looks like the ridge will topple again on this run unfortunately. Hopefully that’ll change tomorrow.
  12. You’ve just used a chart from a single operational run over 300 hours away to make the claim that there’s little chance of a cold spell in the future, which is fairly ridiculous to be honest. You also neglected to mention the fact that the same run also showed this at an earlier timeframe (albeit still in the unreliable period as well).
  13. Perturbation 26 is the jackpot run with -12c uppers widely across the UK.
  14. Waiting for someone to say that these uppers will only deliver sleet to lower levels.
  15. Really sorry to hear that news, wishing your brother all the best and a speedy recovery from the virus.
  16. Fairly good ECM 12z mean this evening, looks like there’s a decent amount of support for the op at day 10. Op: Mean:
  17. Evening all, I’m late to the party today but there have been some encouraging trends for coldies recently. The JMA 12z looks great out to t192 as well.
  18. Safe to say that it has been one hell of a winter at day 10 this year.
  19. Definitely a much colder set of GEFS 12z ensembles this afternoon, looks like the milder spell has been watered down a fair bit... 06z: 12z:
