    Juggling act

    I'm in conflict with myself at the moment, trying to balance finding a job that allows me to be with my kids more and keeping some level of my position I have reached in my career.
    Today I had a glimmer of a local job with lots of management, working 8am-1pm. It all seemed really good but then I found out that I would be on call to deal with any problems with the property or transport Why can it not be possible to work part time when you get past a certain level :unsure:
    I think I really need to look into doing some freelance work

    Mixed day

    I was a bit unwell today, nothing major but feeling generally naff
    Got better and had a bit of a clearout , then I got a call from Mr Loo. I knew his boss had to have a big op (big c) but he didn't make it to the op and had a heart attack before hand and need triple heart bypass surgery now :unsure:

    Patter of little feet

    This weekend saw lots of excitement, not all nice :unsure:
    Yesterday was little fella's birthday party. It ended up with 10 boys and 1 girl. The girl (bless her) was lovely but the boys were, in the whole, awful. I'm not saying Master Loo was a saint but he was just enthusiastic There was an incident where blood was drawn (I had to put on my stern face to deal with that boy)
    I think I have come to the conclusion that whilst Master Loo does my head in at times, he is a little angel compared to some of his peers. Lots of mummy's were saying to me "oh, you're *******'s Mummy, XX has always said he is his best friend and he is always so happy and friendly"
    Today we took MIL to the coach home. En route I saw a mark on little fella's face, close to the hairline. On closer inspection it was the dreaded...........headlice Went to Boots to buy some stuff to sort it (school will not let him back unless you have treated it) but then I found out that I had it (slightly) So I've done the awful smelly stuff as well.................................not the best thing for your hair

    It's been so windy, decided to have a walk down the front to wake ourselves up a bit
    The damp people are Mr Loo, Master Loo, Grandma Loo and Princess Tbags (who was NOT impressed by the sind)

    Christmas stress

    I really like Christmas but I hate all the stress involved. Buying pressies, sending pressies, trying to manage all festive invitations (mainly the kids)
    I don't want to sound Bar humbug but it's hard work trying to enjoy yourself

    I am soooooooooooooo tired of feeling ill
    I've had the cold from hell, which has been worse than previous chest infections. I've been over 2 weeks of coughing manically and feeling totally c**p
    I now have conjuctivitus in both eyes...........just flipping give me the plague and be done with it *cough*

    Evil Freezer

    We bought a freezer when we were in the Cotswolds and it seemed to work ok. It was in storage for 6 months then we installed it at the new Devon residence. It is less than 2 years old.
    Since we have been here it has developed a weird clicky thing. It started off as the odd click but has progressed to constant clicking. We have tried to work out what is wrong with it and it seems that the thermostat is f****d and will cost almost as much to fix as to buy a new freezer.
    This week I have been driven to the edge of my sanity with this manic clicking and have tonight given in and bought a new freezer online
    My only saving grace is that it will probably save us money on the electricity it was using going to -24c on it's weird clicky trips

    Positive thoughts

    This weekend we were invaided by my brother and his family. It was lovely to see them all, especially my little 6 mouth old nephew :wub:
    We dined out at The Royal Clarence Hotel in Exeter, which was lovely but expensive :o (too much Yorkshire blood).
    Saturday my mum and auntie came over. She then talked almost non-stop for the rest of the day When my aunt said that she was going to be 70 next year she said "oh yes, that reminds me, I need to speak to you lot (me & brothers) about my will and power of atorney" My aunt was already a bit weepy about it being 13 years the day before since my dad died
    On the walk into town I was aware of having money in my pocket (usually in my purse) I kept fiddling with the money, thinking I should put it in my purse. I then realised that I had lost £10 I walked back a short way but couldn't see it. I beat myself up for a while, then thought how negative my mum is. So I thought "hey, I've just made someone's day"
    Who knows.......what goes around comes around.......I haven't checked the numbers for the Euro lottery that I got conned into putting into at work last week

    Tomorrow my step son and another relative arrive for a weeks visit. It's been over 2 years since I have seen them and it's going to be weird but nice to see them again.

    On the way back from work tonight I was stuck in traffic for 10 mins or so. I had to rely on the good nature of the chap across the way to let me in. It turns out that he was having a major exploration of his two tubes
    I must have been staring a bit and he decided to let me out It's a good job I'm so nosey (no pun intended)

    Well this weekend has seen me go to a 40th birthday party. The party had a pirate theme and after a brief scout round the charity shops I managed to find a D & G white serving wench type top to go with my knee high boots and skirt...............sorry forgot to take my camera but may have some photos later.
    I now realise that I'm a light weight on the drinking front as we went at 11pm but it carried on til 3am
    The thing that annoys me is that this morning Mr Loo was recounting the evening and yet again the last 30 mins sounds like the best part of the evening...........pity that I can't really remember too much about the last 30 mins

    Busy Weekend

    Had a busy weekend which started with being invaided by my brother and his tribe. It wasn't all bad, he bought a bottle of bubbly with him as a belated house warming present :blink:
    Now I'm usually a dab hand at opening bubbly but this bottle exploded all over me, thankfully I was outside so the grass had a drink as well
    Spent a large part of Saturday working from home
    Today I helped my mum get rid of some of her clutter at a car boot sale. I had a few bits n bobs that I got rid of for £30 and she got over £60, not bad for a couple of hours work Mind you, my mum is no salesperson whilst hubbie thinks I am a born market trader I think I have spent a good bit of my profit on clothes for Tilly. At her age you can get some really lovely stuff (Monsoon, Osh kosh, Next) I think I spent a total of £4 and filled her drawers and wardrobe

    Peas & PJ's

    Princess Tilly is getting worse with her limited diet but today I followed up what her nursery said and gave her peas.......she ate loads
    I personally hate peas and little fella has an exemption against eating them (he eats other veg)
    The babygrows are getting too small and she is now in PJs, makes her look really grown up, my little baby is growing up

    Sunny day

    Today was a sunny day, well a bit cloudy at times......hence I have sunburn on the back of my neck
    Been really busy with work stuff at the mo, now have to sort a bit of legal stuff from when I was on maternity leave
    Little people are keeping me busy at the mo. Princess Tilly refuses to walk, getting by with a strange knee walk thing Little fella wants to know everything about anything
    We are attacking the house as best we can, out biggest effort is in the garden, which looks so much better than a few months ago.
    Today we had 2 hours on the beach at low tide catching crabs in the rock pools, there were some big crabs :blink:

    The last week has seen me be very, very ill
    About a month ago I had a bad cold type thing but being me, didn't stop to recover. Well it seems that I now have a secondary chest infection.....to quote my doc...."if you don't take it easy you will end up with pnuemonia (sp)
    I've had a horrid week but have managed to top up my sleep quota
    Princess Tilly is on the verge of walking, she's a bit late compared to some but all kids do it when they want to. She was on the top of a padded picnic table (on the floor, legs not raised) and stood up a couple of times, she looked round, proud as punch, laughing her head off as she looked like she was surfing

    Been a while

    Been a bit of a while from posting, just been really busy with work and little people
    We have finally moved to our new house, although we still have a couple of bits in storage. I have never lived near the sea and it's like being on holiday everyday We have a seaview from our bedroom
    Tilly is being a pain in the butt waking up all the time and screaming the house down. I took her to the docs today but he said it was just teething......for 3 months
    Work's doing my head in but it pays well

    It's a boy

    I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy
    My sis-in-law (my brother's wife) has given birth to a baby boy today 7lb 11oz and mother and baby doing well *huge smiley gif thingy*
    She has had 3 miscarriages so we have been on tenderhooks for the last 9 months but I am so happy that they have finally got the most wonderful gift in the world.....a child
    I got the call in the middle of a meeting with my boss and ended up starting to fill up a bit but my boss understood

    Tired again

    Last night was a bit of a nightmare, Princess Tilly decided to wake up at 2am, then 4am........each time staying awake for at least an hour :blush:
    Usually this wouldn't be too bad but Mr Loo is out of the country at the mo (back tomorrow night) He's going to have such a nice weekend
    Thankfully my boss has a son about the same age as Tilly, so she is very understanding

    I've finally managed to find the cable to connect the camera to the PC
    Little fella had a good birthday party but there was less people who came than I expected (there were lots of illnesses)

    Simple pleasures

    Yesterday we went to see the house that, hopefully, we are buying :blush:
    The last 2 times we saw it was when it was being rented out and what a state but yesterday it had been professionally cleaned and looked fab It need a bit of redecoration (bright pink/red walls ) but still has the Edwardian character
    The best bit about it is that it's 15 mins walk from the sea and I can see the sea from my bedroom window
    We went down to the front and spent 30mins dodging waves Little fella was screaming with laughter and it just made me think.....what a simple but fantastic pleasure we are about to embark on

    Sick house

    Well the last few days have been pretty tiring. Little fella has had a sick bug and Princess Tilly also had a brief sicky spell. The result is that me and the washing machine are rather tired at the mo :blush:
    Mr Loo has man flu, so it's laugh a minute in our house
