Good morning! Astonishing temperatures across the region! -12c in Manchester city centre! I think the coldest I managed last winter was -6 and that was a reasonably cold winter too! As for any more snowfall, it is worth watching that little trough, currently to the east of Scotland. This is moving slowly southwards but the more dominant low to the south of it is going to shift it southwestwards and it should cross our region tonight. Obviously, most of it's energy will be felt to the east of the Pennines but it might keep some precipitation for us too. The gfs 0z, doesn't show it making over the Pennines but the UKMO does to an extend. So a dusting of snow is possible tonight. Let's hope the 6z will show this! Both gfs and UKMO pick up a band of showers for tomorrow afternoon/early evening and then another opportunity on Saturday from the northeast. So, loads to look out for in the next couple of days!
