  1. Yes probably , the trend is for a more prolonged cold spell across all the models . Just this particular run brings in sw winds . 6 hours earlier the GFS run. was more prolonged
  2. What the heck has the GFS got against the SE . Crap wet and miserable . I hate that model
  3. I honestly think the signs are unfolding here for too much energy to get an easterly forming for us . The GFS insists on lows buckling an early easterly flow . It’s game over after that . Seen it so many times . I want the be wrong but I can’t see a good outcome here . The bbc aren’t buying the cold , no warnings from met as well . It’s just my view to be prepared for it going wrong that way you won’t start throwing toys about . Oh for the old days when an easterly would just ease itself in .
  4. Got a feeling I’m going to do quite well out of this returning band here
  5. Just had a burst of moderate snow here everything going white again
  6. I didn't realise about the landscape location works fine on my iPhone XR
  7. I share your pain I was convinced I was getting another failure . But it ended up most snow since 2018 I think IMG_4630.MOV

  9. Hopefully soon it was a great one round here today . Snow still here now . It’s all so localised though isn’t it . Friends in Brighton were well fed up with me sending endless photos and videos of snow 35 miles away when it poured all day their and their walks were quagmires
  10. I was alarmed to see my phone app showing rain! however if it makes it here (which I am convinced it will within the hour) I am expecting snow. It is slow though. Come to daddy radar
  11. Do you know what . I’d be tempted to just go back old school and not even look at the projected micro changes . Just enjoy anything that comes out of the sky that isn’t wet. Personally I had a great morning last weekend going up Reigate Hill and seeing snow . I’m fully confident tomorrow will be a repeat
  12. Can you both settle this over a snowball fight on Sunday and post the video
  13. Is this the fabled SSW effect we’ve been hearing about since mid December? A big fat Azores/souther European high pumping warm air from a westerly direction ? Don’t tell me ‘Mid February looking great for coldies ‘
  14. Don’t think there was down here . Met Office always cover worst case scenario. What I had is the best since 2018 which isn’t saying much !
  15. It’s the early bird that catches the snow ! . To be precise I left house in dark set of on 10km round trip to Reigate Hill. snow started here around 5:30 am and lasted I guess max 2.5 hours . Set off through Reigate Park then onwards uphill . Was great at top , windy and very cold . At least we got a snow fix . Got home at 9:30 missus still in bed sleeping . Pleased I went really enjoyed the morning IMG_4511.MOV
  16. Moderate snow here at Reigate . Up and ready for a 7am walk up Reigate hill where it will be colder. Settled a bit on cars and grass here at 240 feet
  17. Has anyone noticed how the pattern on their smartphones is to slowly reduce the number of hours projected for snow . Like today was 4pm-9pm then 5pm 9pm then 6-7 and now just rain. Like they try and hope you won’t notice . I’ve had 10 days of virtual snow on my iPhone and none in reality .
  18. Thats a disaster if Steves left he was one of the best posters on here
  19. that was tongue in cheek just amuses me the amount of different takes on things. Realistically I doubt much will occur here today currently 9.c
  20. strange three hours ago sleety said......Much better overnight runs, and met saying chance of disruption due to snow Saturday. Which one of you is correct ?
  21. No my friend : not sure how old your memory is but February 1991 was a mild month just with a monster easterly sandwiched in it . A real winter spell. A whole months of average or below by 1c just won’t do anything . Averages don’t define snow events . Wouldn’t you rather have two weeks mild and sunny and 2 weeks of a beast from the east and an average overall. Or a below average same every day for a month with no snow . That’s what I’m saying
