I'm really sorry guys but i'm not going to be able to make it.
Trying to save some money for Uni and i just can't afford it gutted as i really was looking forward to coming along as well
Awesome video's there Tom, you can defiantly see the funnel on the first possible tornado. I should really upload some stuff I can never bear to watch it when i first come home as it makes me too homesick lol
Crickey Red warning for here from the Meto. The last time that happened was the thundersnow event on the 5/6th Feb 2009, when Dartmoor had several feet of snow, only managed a couple of inches here but there was some very heavy snowfall for a time.
Actually just looked on radar and it must have been the cell that popped up west which has merged with the storm further north. Looks like unless it backbuilds we are just going to miss out here
Heard a nice crack of thunder whilst just out with the dog (no it wasn't the dog) and a light shower followed, think the cell responsible has drifted south west.
Hoping the storms just east of Exeter may either drift slowly this way or spark off some intense cells further south overhead. Would be the icing on the cake for me today
Finally some lightnings! the storm drought has ended here. Nice little storm with around 8-10 flashes a minute at times although the low cloud prevented me from seeing any bolts of lightning but there was some definite close CG strikes going off the explosive sounding claps of thunder.
I have a question and i'm not sure whether its best to ask here or in the sea surface temp thread, but looking at the latest sea surface temperatures there is a cold pool of water sat in the mid Atlantic and has gradually stretched its way towards the UK over the past couple of weeks.
Am i right in thinking that the warm and cold anomalies tend to show where areas of low pressure (warm water) and high pressure (cold water) are going to be during the next week or two? If this is the case is the most current chart I've posted below look to hint at high pressure ridging towards the UK from the Mid Atlantic? The models have been hinting at this the past week or so.

Feeling very juicy here at the moment. 17C dew point and an air temp of 18c, 93% Humidity. Hoping for some action tomorrow evening/night but will have to wait and see
I'm as green as those clouds with envy! Structure looks just wonderful and the hail, brilliant! I say it all the time but i would love to see baseball sized hail.
Some absolute cracking pictures guys as always thanks for sharing
Some fantastic shots of the lightning there guys
Loving the anvil crawler it looks like a giant electric hand in the clouds! and the CG ("Cookie Grinder") shot from Lewis just looks insane!
