  1. Not sure we should be full of joy, even if heat lovers. If this is a sign of the future we are in trouble. It's like on the BBC when there is a climate change item in the news and then they go to a forecast of hot weather and presenters are over the moon. I still think it's unlikely to reach 40 deg but if it does I'm off to join Greta.
  2. Most on here like extremes but it is the fact that it may be a harbinger of doom in this case. Rising temperatures may change our lives as we know them. Even the threat is doing so now. Cold not an issue in general terms.
  3. What colour are they. Ours are white and work really well?
  4. Certainly looks largely dry and settled. No sign of significant heat and so perfect as far as I am concerned.
  5. To be fair ECM was showing some pretty cold air fringing the North at day 10 so risk is there even if unlikely.
  6. Certainly looking like a repeat is possible of last Spring, with Greenland heights setting up again the far-reaches of the Gfs.
  7. Thus is a meteorological thread. It has been very mild. Feels like is fine for everyday life but most on here think in a purer way.
  8. Weather station just blew down. Never happened before. Guess it's windy! Can't measure!
  9. Can't decide what to do about school in Warwickshire. Have a reasonably long journey and peak may well coincide with pick up. School normally closes for a snowflake- how apt. That normally really annoys me so have mixed thoughts.
  10. Transition to green energy and Russian weaponising. Unfortunately no one will admit to former.
  11. Just watch High pressure set up camp over Greenland when spring arrives, just as 2021.
  12. Warming climate may be irrelevant/good if resulting pattern change is beneficial.
  13. To be fair, GFS last night was not a million miles away. Let's see what the next hour or two says.
  14. And yet climate change is supposed to produce more extremes as a result of more energy. I too have noticed a reduction in extreme weather types. Would love to see some wind data. As we become more reliant on wind power it seems to decline.
  15. It is certainly a fantasy chart of course. For me another type of fantasy too. Putting aside injury, death and property damage I would love to experience it.
  16. Not sure about the maths there. Was-7 not -1.7 and if taking the mean of the max and min -1.7 is correct.
  17. Yes hints there of a more standard setup, with cool/cold incursions certainly into the North. The South somewhat milder and potentially wetter than it has been but without ruling out joining in with the cold incursions.
  18. I love snow but for me my first aim is to get mean temp to or just below average. Here in Warwickshire could achieve that in January so by no means warm.
  19. Different distance depending on which way around?
  20. I certainly have the first one showing. Very worrying time. My dad's sister married a Tongan and so have family out there by marriage. Silence so far....
  21. Something as rare as hens teeth. Means it has no chance as they don't have any.
