  1. Not sure how to find the charts but CFS was showing this pattern for now, weeks ago.
  2. But dry cold reduces ground temps etc and often there will be a battleground eventually....I can wait.
  3. Spot on. The cold pool may well take some shifting and not be incorporated properly into the output. Expect big changes by Monday (hopefully)
  4. You say it's not all it's cracked up to be but then base the future on it? It does look as though all of the models are going mild now but for how long...?
  5. You ate quite correct but boundary could easily move several hundred miles, hopefully south, in either direction.
  6. Indeed, late Feb 2018 was better for me than 2010. Less snow but that winchill....-18. Whatever the climate is doing it can still happen and relatively late in the season All models seem to have a general trend in that direction but some a bit more than others.
  7. Slidey and wedgy lol. Love the technical discussion. Never change!
  8. Snow, streamers off North Sea, coast and a good way inland on that strength of wind.
  9. Quite incredible how busy the Atlantic is now looking given the warming/s and the time of year. Should just about be thinking about quietening as we move towards the end of January. You are spot on. Potentially very wet in the South and very snowy in the North. Where will the dividing line be......
  10. The thing about snow cover is that we can generate our own cold. With any wind between NW and SE the 850s become far less important with snow cover in place. Certainly if you want severe surface cold.
  11. Indeed, and you only become an experienced poster by starting at the beginning. I have studied, weather and particularly climate for 40 years and learn on here every day.
  12. Look like full reversal but we need it to extend further South.
  13. Yes they can cool in situ and this may be the shortest route to improve marginality.
  14. Yes indeed, some seriously cold uppers now appearing to the East as we move into the New Year and currently modeled to drift this way.
  15. Yep, I'm from Stratford but now in Southam. Came within a mile or two as well I believe!
  16. Huge difference between 06 and 12 for this period. Too soon to worry. Let's concentrate on next 10 days first.
