Slightly disappointed that we had no frost. Minimum of 4.7C. I think the wind was the spoiler. Still, many things in the garden get to live another day!
Is there any snow on Cairngorm yet? I had a look on the webcams, but couldn't see anything. Must be cold enough though as the summit temperature is -3C.
We are in a frost hollow here so tend to get frosts early and late. Around early October would be average for the first frost. Temperature last night fell to just under 4C.
One radiator back on today — without the sun, the house cools quite quickly. Anything under 20C is now too cold for me just to sit around in — I used to be able to tolerate very low room temperatures (9-10C), but not since I've got older.
The CFSv2 also looks to be going for a mild, wet winter. Starting to feel a depression coming on :—(

There seems to be a common theme emerging for winter; starting average-mild and getting colder, and then even colder. In other words, saving the best till last!
If it's cold weather you like, the warmth is getting rather too close for comfort this winter according to CFSv2. Feb looks half decent with a warm Greenland, but December looking poor right now.
Luckily the rain in the west fell early in the morning, so dry by 10am and by 12 we were in the sun. Still quite cool compared with recent days though.
Went on this morning in the shower room only. Getting chilly-feeling in the house now, especially at night and in the morning. Also lighting the wood burner at night for the past couple of days. I expect that will be lit most days between now and March next year.
Nice to see the Christmas forecast! I'm amazed that a 20% chance of snow south of Yorkshire is a "higher than average chance". Just shows how slim our chances are in reality.
Cloudy, but getting brighter, and fairly warm. We've had quite a few nights recently with the temperature under 10C for several hours, leading to a heavy dew, making grass cutting very difficult!
