  1. There's gonna be a fair bit of instability north of the low tomorrow morning which will instigate some streamers for long spells of snow. Local forecast showing one example of how it could look if your under one.
  2. Lying snow line is about 350m at present in Saddleworth where I am, we've got a long way to go.
  3. The models are showing alot of uncertainty to the northern extent of the low so we can't read too much into the position of it yet. I do think it'll be mostly higher ground event around 150m+ if we do see a favourable track. Maybe localised accumulations down to 100m. For now keep up to date with the meto Yorkshire and Humber text forecast found at the bottom of the local forecast page. The local forecasts going for snow here we well.
  4. Current shower over north Leeds at 130m is raining, zero sign of anything sleety. Literally up the hill at 186m just got sent a video of it snowing.
  5. Really slippy conditions out there couldn't even walk at a normal pace. VID_20200224_074736~2.mp4
  6. Maybe 5cm in places can't tell as I don't have a ruler but doing quite well on the car.
  7. Just took a video really starting to come down now. VID_20200224_064853.mp4
  8. I think Sheffield will still see a decent enough covering. Sweet spot generally areas North West of Leeds and West of Harrogate on high ground. Here looks prime position, could be a little further north but I'm happy with our prospects.
  9. The models have pushed the snow risk a touch further north. Favoured areas high ground in West and North West Yorkshire. I'm going for 7cm here.
  10. Now in the time frame for the higher resolution NMM EURO4 ARPEGE HIRLAM ICON
  11. All you need is an hour of heavy frontal snow to produce a covering even to low levels which is entirely possible in these scenarios as the precipitation will be quite heavy. I think 1-3cm even to low ground inland is a good shout.
  12. I'm going for widespread accumulations of 1-3cm for low ground, 2-5cm for high ground. Potential for 5-10cm if we see further corrections south for high ground.
  13. The GFS is starting to come in line with the higher res models with a slight shift south on the 12z, expect further corrections. It'll be the only real snowfall of the winter for alot of us.
  14. The models seem to gearing up for a southern correction.
  15. Current lying snow projection for Monday Morning Local forecasts going for a period of snow even for low lying areas of Leeds.
  16. Keep an eye out on Monday for the potential for frontal snowfall even for low levels, could be our first widespread snowfall of the winter. Up in the air at the minute.
  17. The showers should become wintry as the evening progresses, wouldn't rule out falling snow to low levels if intensity is there.
  18. Not saying it's anything to get excited about but the meto show the front starting of as rain then turning to sleet for the remainder. I suspect rain at sea level, sleet for high ground (200m+) and snow for the tops of the hills. Interesting to see the sleet isn't frontal but occurs during and at the end. Maybe evaporating cooling coming into play
  19. Constant grauple mixed with rain here. Temperature 2.c DP 0.c. The weather is pretty much what I expected, 850's of -5 won't cut it in a NWly. It's from around 8am you should expect snowfall when colder upper of -7/-8 move in. But don't expect lying snow for lowland areas with temporary accumulations higher up.
