Ditto in Sutton. Proper snow, and temps have dropped from 2.6c about 1300hrs to 1.4c now. Shame the ground is now too wet to support lying snow....grrrrrr

From 7:30am to 1pm we had heavy snow here in Telford.

A good 2/3 inches.

By 1pm in became sleet and by 2:30pm it became rain

Now its 2.5c with rain

We had dry snow all morning, getting heavy at times but not settling (light snow earlier made ground wet, after that just got wetter and wetter), snow ended at around 1.15 or so, there was a gap for 30 minutes or so and it began to sleet, then turned to rain around 3pm ish. It's now sleeting and slowly turning back into snow.

Heavy light snow here, hasn't stopped all day, went sleety for an hour, nothing settle, turning back to snow and getting heavier. Looks like a heavy area of precip coming this way too.

Started grey but dry this morning. Snow started around 10am and continued until well past lunch, always steady but fairly mainly small flakes, stopped for a while before returning as rain. Now have a sleety mix. Never settled on anything at any time during the day.

Woke up to snow this morning but it was soon rectricted to the higher ground where it snowed moderatly till round 11am but the lying snow thawed. After that we had heavy sleet then heavy rain till recently when it stopped.

Been some fairly heavy snow this afternoon which turned to sleet then back to rain.Ever so often it turns back to snow again.

The hills around Swindon are white due to the higher altitude allowing the snow to settle, i've taken the kids up there to have a look about as they 'pine' for snow. Some good quality snow about 3" deep.Seems wierd as the hills are only about 2 miles from where we live.

Jealous of you Casper! I could make it to Swindon by 7.... *thinks about it*

Died down for 10 minutes but becoming increasingly heavy now, snow making ground colder, starting to settle albeit slushy. But it's a good start

temp 1c

Snow since 8 am, eased off at lunchtime and laying snow started to melt. Moderate snow for 2 hours or more this pm, all surfaces covered probably 1/2 cms, guess temp around 0. 500 ft asl, north downs, 3 miles from sutton, showing the effect of altitude locally (see post below)

and you are - where??

Started snowing at West End, Surrey, at approximately 1545. Snow now starting to lay on the grass and parked cars. Have just driven back along the M3 to the Heathrow area and the snow turned to rain once we reached the M25 junction...
