Well I said yesterday could be significant and just look at all these Tornadoes that occured in the Best Chase Country in the World, from my Position in Hayes I would have probably been on the Cheyenne Long Track Tornado, sounded like a Big Wedge between 1/2 and 3/4 miles wide, others would have had the Tornadofest in the Texas Panhandle. 2 Confirmed Fatalities with the Beaver County Storm in Oklahoma.

Today looking like a repeat but a little bit further east.

From the SPC

Another Slight Risk today and look like DFW Is about to get hit by an approaching squall line, not a great chance of Tornadoes today and mainly a Hail/Wind event - The following MD Issued by SPC

MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0370

NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK

1101 AM CDT THU MAR 29 2007

AREAS AFFECTED...PARTS OF CNTRL/N CNTRL TX INTO ERN OK

CONCERNING...SEVERE POTENTIAL...WATCH POSSIBLE

VALID 291601Z - 291800Z

A SEVERE WEATHER WATCH IS NOT NECESSARILY ANTICIPATED IN THE NEAR

TERM...BUT TRENDS ARE BEING MONITORED FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF AN

INCREASING SEVERE THREAT.

IN ASSOCIATION WITH AN IMPULSE ROTATING AROUND THE EASTERN PERIPHERY

OF BROADER SCALE CENTRAL ROCKIES CLOSED LOW...THE LEADING EDGE OF

STRONGER MID-LEVEL COOLING /PARTICULARLY AROUND THE 700 MB LEVEL/ IS

GRADUALLY SHIFTING EASTWARD THROUGH THE CENTRAL PLAINS. THIS

APPEARS TO BE PROVIDING THE FOCUS ONGOING CONVECTIVE DEVELOPMENT

EXTENDING IN A BAND FROM SOUTH CENTRAL OKLAHOMA INTO THE EDWARDS

PLATEAU REGION OF TEXAS.

ACTIVITY CURRENTLY APPEARS TO BE MOSTLY BASED ABOVE SURFACE BOUNDARY

ENHANCED BY RAIN COOLED OUTFLOW. BUT...MOST UNSTABLE CAPE FOR

LIFTED PARCELS RANGES FROM AROUND 1000 J/KG ON NORTH END OF THE

DEVELOPING LINE...TO AROUND 2000 J/KG ON THE SOUTHERN FLANK...WHERE

UPDRAFTS ARE ALREADY RATHER STRONG. EMBEDDED WITHIN 30-40 KT MEAN

SOUTHERLY FLOW REGIME...TENDENCY SHOULD BE FOR STRONGER CELLS TO

CONTINUE DEVELOPING MORE RAPIDLY NORTHWARD THAN ASSOCIATED SURFACE

BOUNDARY PROGRESSES EASTWARD. HOWEVER...WITH TIME...MOIST BOUNDARY

LAYER WILL CONTINUE TO WARM AND INHIBITION WEAKEN ALONG/JUST AHEAD

OF STRENGTHENING SURFACE COLD POOL. AS THIS OCCURS...A

SOLIDIFYING/INTENSIFYING SQUALL LINE APPEARS POSSIBLE...ACCOMPANIED

BY AN INCREASING DAMAGING WIND POTENTIAL ACROSS AREAS NEAR/EAST OF

THE INTERSTATE 35 CORRIDOR. THIS MAY NOT OCCUR UNTIL THE MID/LATE

AFTERNOON HOURS. UNTIL THEN THOUGH ...AT LEAST AN ISOLATED

HAIL/DOWNBURST THREAT WILL PROBABLY CONTINUE.

Still some possibilities for the next few hours, a good possibility if some of the boundaries link up with the dryline in Western Oklahoma and Western Kansas, skies are now clearing and temps are recovering, Target area of just West of Wichita for today, so if you want the weather radio later then tune into Wichita if storms fire on the dryline later on. I'd expect initition if it goes at all sometime around 23z.

Kelly it is driving me CRAZY :wallbash::wallbash: Thing is I "Could" get out there but the Airlines are stingy gits, I tried to do a 3-4 day Chase trip for this week but unless you go for at least a week the price goes up from £345 to £991 - Bloody outragous, cant wait until the low cost carriers can compete with BA & AA. Just hope all the energy does not go into the next few weeks as next week looks stormy as well.

Paul S

**I'll tell you what just made me laugh, the guy on the Stillwater Radio Link just said and I quote

"Probability of Thunderstorms in the Listening area - 100%" Can you imagine if we had that in this country, we would all be at our windows or in the field

Think I'll go for a target area further South today over N Texas/S'ern OK, I-44 between Wichita Falls TX and Lawton OK is my bet for the best severe potential. GFS and NAM suggests max CAPE over this area combined, wind shear stronger here too and dry line shows driest air over W Texas and OK Panhandle than further North, though ideally high dps will need to be already present in the target area along the boundary to drier air - Dps of 64-65F currently over S Central OK:

Current conditions in OK: http://www.mesonet.ou.edu/public/current.html

GFS and NAM 0-3km CAPE for 00z Fri:

WV imagery:

post-1052-1175201835_thumb.jpg

Alot of residual cloud and rain/storms from the MCS over N Central Texas and much of Central and E Oklahoma, but some clearer skies edging in from the West, outflow from this MCS may redevelop squall line activity in the next few hours to the West where skies are clearer and max insolation occurs particualry as the dry line interacts further West.

Not looking as good as yesterday's activity, but still time yet ...

Nick in the last 3 hours I have been Virtually :wallbash: Screaming west from Wichita to Woodward and I am now eating a Virtual Borritto with extra Chilli Sauce !! So Woodward for me today, just on the Southern Tip of the Low Pressure and near to the Dryline, skies are realtively clear here as well.
