This is what you call a Dominant Supercell, now this cell has split and become a Right Mover, the Floydada cell has become a Left Split but the Silverton Supercell with a tornado still on the ground is just ingesting the cell to its south, what a Monster!!!

Latest Barons Doppler radar images of the storm over Silverton posted on a US forum suggests 2 mesocyclone areas, the S'ern one most severe in the tornado watch area and is a right mover, and as Paul says has a tornado on the ground:

Nick and Others are you listening to the Realplayer Link, this is giving Live updates of Warnings coming through as they happen, click the link and click on Lubbock! A Tornado has now been confirmed on this storm.

Nick that area is a prolific producer of storms, the dryline seems to set up just west of Lubbock or Plainview/Amarillo and they move North east and back build.

Once again that link on page 9 is awesome, it is the actual weather radio we listen too whilst chasing.

Yup, looks like the lid/cap has broken over SW Kansas now ahead of dry line - with a fair few bright echoes appearing, good cells to tag near Tribune and Colby, my target area of Elkhart not too bad for today.

Talk of steak at the Big Texan making me hungry now!

Would agree tomorrow (Thursday) looks good for tornadic development across west-central SD, NE, KS and central OK, with very slow forward progress of front allowing any mature supercells to remain intact for several hours. Large energy peak at 19 to 20z tomorrow (2-3 pm CDT) should be ideal for early development so large tornadoes can form by prime time.

Another severe weather feature will be exceptionally heavy rainfalls developing further north around the top end of the pinching low in Dakotas, while this would not be a storm chase feature, expect to hear reports of 3-6 inch flooding rains in parts of eastern and central ND, sw MN and e NE w IA from this system.

God that supercell out east of Plainview has just stuck there for about an hour now, with absolutely nothing to the south of it!!

Also as Storm are firing near to Amarillo, I have found a weather cam

very clear cam paul sky looks very ominous !

Hopefully it heads towards the cam, although most of the storms are moving away from AMA, Shame as we could have seen some Lightning shots, although for the die hards an MCS Is supposed to roll off S/E Colorado and New Mexico later, so might get some Lightning action from that cam. One to keep Pots.

Guys I am calling in to my bed in about 20 mins.

Night

34 tornado reports and climbing. Still several cells with confirmed large tornadoes on the ground around and about. 1 fatality confirmed in the Oklahoma Panhandle already, and that storm still has a large multivortex tornado on the ground in Kansas 2 hours later. It's probably cycled but that is one impressive cell. McLean may well have been hit by a large tornado as one was confirmed just southwest of McLean and the hook went right over the city.

Another storm which headed just east of Goodland is currently displaying 186kt gate to gate shear on lowest tilt atm too! This has apparently also had an incredibly large long track tornado associated with it as it passed through mainly rural areas. It will be approaching a few mroe populated areas soon hwoever, passing just between Bird City and McDonald in KS if they are lucky.

Yes.. Quite an evening. Sounds like a few towns may have been hit by large tornadoes unfortunately. Reports are pretty scattered, but there are now 50 reports with at least a handful of other confirmed tornadoes mentioned in warnings but not posted to the reports page.
