Had some heavy snow showers throughout the afternoon. Last one is just clearing and was very heavy snow with potent 50mph gusts. Around 4cm lying on the grass now. Base of the snow does look a bit wet though, and it isn't as deep on the roads

Hail showers here this afternoon turned to snow by 1600. A couple of moderate snow showers since then have given a cover of 1cm.

Had some hail sleet and snow showers here today, which gave blizzard like conditions at times due to gales.

A slight dusting of snow on the grass at around 3pm due to a heavy snow shower, currently dry but feeling raw in the very strong winds.

A heavy snow shower around 5pm, but nothing since then, and it doesn't look like anything will be coming for a while.

Crewe is waking up to a dusting of hail and ice pellets this morning - Friday 1st February 2008.

06.38 - 06.50. Started off as v light wintry mix then become soft hail, then briefly for a few minutes moderate to heavy hail giving a dusting over all surfaces. Looks rather nice.

Sleet shower yesterday around Shipton, Yorks (12.30pm).

Could see exactly, but was either rain or sleet this morning here looking out the window (definately not snow though).

Thought I would take the liberty of mentioning that the Irish weather board has numerous reports of 1-3 cms of snow lying in western Ireland away from the coast, since NW has few members in this exact location ... and they also speak of various sizes of snowflakes coming down between 0700 and 0845. From radar, would speculate this is nothing too organized, just clumps of snow showers. One report talks about snow near Dublin lying above 300 metres on Wicklow Mountains, nothing closer to sea level. Temperatures reported with the snow generally either 0 or 1 C.

A fair bit of snow around Ireland at the moment. Was up at 6:30am to get a bus to college in Cork, 1.2C, 1002mb & a light NW wind.

Was snowing when I left the house with a slight covering and on the bus most of the way to Cork city there was blizzard like conditions and a couple of centimeters of snow in most places (except in Fermoy for some reason :unknw: ), that was untill within about 15kms of the city itself and then NOTHING at all... twas a disappointing to say the least.

Nothing here in Ryton Rollo, only about 6 miles away as the crow flies. Will let you know !

Morning SM, its very light sporadic stuff, hardly worth getting excited about really,I suppose as the fly crows it should be with you soon.

Not sledging weather yet then lol. Can't wait for later, if it comes soon enough I'll be taking my 4 yr old sledging down the bank in Ryton next to Somerfields. Popular spot, dont know if you know it.

If it arrives too late will def be down there tomorrow. Brrrr !

i notice the Met Office have a snow reporting page too :unknw:
