Wow! SNOW!!! Wasn't expecting this till much later. Tiny tiny snow grains are settling at the moment, but it is a little warm for them to stay I think!

SOooooooooooooooooooooooo exciting!

As long as level depth snow in London exceeds 4 inches at some point this week I stand to win a bet with a friend. I just hope mondays snow remains all snow and doesn't turn back to sleet or rain. :D

A few flakes and now it's small, sharp grains - the ground's too warm for anything to settle at the moment, though.

Afternoon all

It is bitterly cold here in Colchester with a few snow flakes blowing in the wind. I am quite confident of some VERY heavy snow tomorrow afternoon say from around 3pm onwards for East Anglia and Parts of the South East, could see a further 10-20 cms easily ontop of what falls tonight. I really do think if it remains on the right side of marginal, Some coastal districts, Especially across North East/South East Essex and places along the thames could see some very deep snow out of this

Not a single mention of rain/sleety mix/wintry showers by Jay Wynne on Countryfile just snow, snow showers and more snow for the week :D:)

I do wish the BBC wouldn't use phrases like "truly awful" to describe weather which to most people of flesh and blood (on here at any rate) is the Holy Grail of winter weather and only comes around once or twice a decade.

They all look so po-faced and concerned. I know it inconveniences people and I feel for the emergency services, police and all, but a lot of people can work from home nowadays using the internet and a bit of forward-planning. Even in '63 we all went to school as normal.
