There's a dark cloud approaching, there's almost a down torrent but it could just be a light flurry. Heading straight for me. Temp has gone from 0.3c to 0.9c in a matter of a few minutes.

Clouds to the North of me

Big clouds to the south

here I am

Stuck in the middle with no snow!

I'm sure one of these flurries will get you. You'd almost be unlucky not to. The shower to my northeast looks like it might miss now. I may just clip the edge.

Just had our heaviest shower of the day so far. Left a slight covering on all surfaces although the sun is now out again and it has melted most of it away, still a bit on the cars and grass etc. ;)

One of the most facinating weather watching days for a long while! As Paul said some of the clouds are amazing, towering right up into the heavens!

And the fun hasn't really even started yet!

Matt

Probably not tohugh Stu because it means lower lapse rates and therefore slightly less instablity for those showers to feed upon. Still should be more then enough for some heavy snow showers.

Coldest air just starting to feed in now but instablity doesn't peak till about 9pm looking at the models and then feeds its way westwards.

I think regarding the milder sector this now looks like it will make some progress westwards but then get shunted ne again. A lucky location around areas to the west of London or SW could get just snow, I think West Sussex/Hants Borders fringing up to the western Home Counties, at times like this I wish I was back in my old home which looks like a great location. Well we had the worst storm in a decade down here so why not the heaviest snow in London and the se for at least a decade!

I'm glad they managed to get the names back at the bottom of the thread, otherwise it feels like you're talking to yourself! :winky: I really hope people enjoy the snow and make the most of it , it maybe many years again before an event such as this might happen.

Hi Nick,

I Just popped in from the Midlands thread.

Hope you are well and enjoy by proxy our Snow.

It looks as if this could be a bigger event than first thought for many.

I am even getting snow already from a Wash streamer deep in the heart of the Midlands.

According to latest BBC forecasts this could be a Snowy week, with tommorow looking tasty for many.

Still snowing here in Folkestone. Every time it's looked like it's going to stop,

It intensifies.

At least half a inch so far. Thing is by time these bonus showers finish it'll be too late for the sun to get to work...
