We had a nice little shower in rayleigh about half an hour ago, but it didn't settle. Next-door's pond has frozen though, and is was fluid this morning, so it's definately getting colder.

Latest forecast suggests 25cm tonight for some parts of SE! Wouldnt rule out 50cm for some by the time the front passes tommorow night!

the new forecast on N24 had the snow later tomorrow a little less extensive with a few holes popping up. however, it didnt seem to particularly introduce as much rain as it cleared northwards. i dont think this one will be nailed until the morning and even then, looks like a bit of nowcasting will be necessary as always with snow.

Sorry, I'm a new to all this so if this is a silly question, please forgive me! What areas would be affected by a Thames streamer - High Wycombe perhaps??

Draw a line east from where the thames meets the north sea think you may be too far North im afraid Reading would do ok

BBC News channel forecast said 25 cm for some tonight and by the time tommorow is finished I wouldnt rule out a further 25cm so that makes half a meter!

Very heavy dry powder snow in North Essex - an inch has fallen in about 10 minutes. I haven't seen this variety of snow since I was a biy in 1991.

A heavy snow shower just north of here, the distant hills and trees are gone, but alas here there's just a few flakes. Looks like there could be quite a covering over there. -2.0c here now with a gusty NE wind.

I take it back! A blustery flurry now, settling immediately.

Few light snow showers here in N Norfolk today but nothing much really. Looks like the convection is missing quite a big portion of Norfolk which is disappointing as I had always thought it did quite well in these situations.

Yes, but the main event hasn't even started yet, lot more excitement to come yet!

Coming down now in shoebury.

Get in the bath, get out and everything was white.

Very nice to see xx

I'm sure you would be nice to see just out of the bath...even if you haven't got much of a tan from the sound of it! :wallbash:

Yep noticed that too, it's definitely of the dry powdery variety.
