Do you have an ETA for that snow, Thundersquall?

If that area of snow affecting as far north as Cambridge doesn't reach Bristol in the direction it's travelling, I'll eat my hat!

I'll help you out with the hat. I shall be disappointed if we don't get a decent covering in the next few days!!

A very rough guess from looking at the one-hour animation on Netweather Extra 5-minute radar,

would be in four hours from now.

It's certainly shifting at a fair rate! Therefore somewhere around 2am?

However, this will certainly decay over land.

I'm not promising anything at all, just looks a direct hit to me!

Right, just posted this in the wrong thread, try again...

Hard to take all this talk of snow going on at the mo. All too often Hampshire is the most Westerly point for picking up decent showers and so it would appear this time around.

A North Easterly direction in this kind of setup is not a favoured one for me, by the time it reaches here it has normally all but fizzled out. Although, I will take 'all but fizzled out' right now as just a light snow shower will send me to bed a contented man.

Plenty of chances left though and I would say it looks like Tuesday will be my best shot for something over the next 4 days.

I tell you one thing though, I don't want to hear that lot bemoaning their lack of snow again on this forum for a while!!

Weymouth could be affected by that line of snow that's clipping along the south coast,

and roughly extending as far west as Portsmouth just now.

I doubt we will get anything tonight as shown by the BBC but tomorrow night and into tuesday looks promising. :D

Might get some light stuff early hours if those showers reach us. I doubt they will be as heavy as they are now.

I've been watching it but I wouldn't be surprised if it made it no further than Poole. Can but hope though!

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for a while and have just registered. I live in Weston and we've just had a light snow shower which has settled. Hopefully we'll see some more snow overnight? :)

Welcome to NetWeather :)

You have joined us at a busy and interesting time! Hopefully us in the south-west will do well for once!

Drove down the M4 in the snow between Cardiff North and Newport. Pretty good covering and the road was trecherous.

My fields and court yard are coverd in about 4cm already at 210meters.

Very cold at the moment colder than i thought it be - temputure -5.7c and dewpoint -8c
