Started snowing here again as the snowfall in Kent expands and starts to strengthen a little and first signs of the frontal system coming into the high resoltuion radar range.

Going to be a very long day for people in the east, wonder what the western extent of the snowfall will be from this front...

Had nothing in Swanley for a couple of hours, 3-4 inches of level snow, up to 7-8 inches in the drifts. Surprised we didnt get more. I hope this snow coming up from France delivers...

We had about 2-3 inches overnight but it's now snowing really heavily. My daughter's school is closed as are all her friend's schools. Anyone know if we'll get much from the lot coming up from France? The NW forecast for High Wycombe is a bit disappointing later!

I know what its like to wake up to 8inches in an easterly...had it a few times before, no idea what happened this time.

Paul, what's your thoughts on the main band of snow coming across the channel hitting the west; do you think Bristol may get some or are we just to going to miss out? Any indications yet as to the track of this system? Ta v.much

I'm keeping an eye on it Yamkin, looks like possibly a weak trough ahead of the front could be developing, something the models did suggest at times could happen though we shall see what happens in the next hour.

Got light snow again here though which is pleasent to see with the 2 inches on the ground.

I believe you will get a decent amount of snow from 'France with love' !!!!!!!!! :D

Paul, there is something about this snow formation which is heading our way from France.

There is a possibility of two separate bands of snow arriving to our shores.

The first I believe will be within 2-3 hours and the other during rush hour time.

What are your thoughts.

Tom, probably the frontal system is probably draining the shower activity away from the far SE as slightly more stable air ahead of the front comes in, shouldn't matter too much though as I'm pretty sure your going to get hammered by the frontal system anyway!
